He started the show with "All This Time", then did one or two more from the "Soul Cages" album. He then went into a medely of "Bring on The Night" and "When the world is running down..." plus some other things that must have lasted 10+ minutes. He then played several Police songs, starting out with "Roxanne", then "Fortress around your heart" and back into the Soul Cages songs - the last song of the show was an awesome "Message in a bottle" with Vinx and Special Beat helping out. The only encore was "Fragile".
Of the old police songs, he played "Roxanne", "Message in a bottle", "Every breath you take", "Walking on the moon", and probably another. For some reason I thought that he didn't like to do these anymore? Most of the songs he played were reworked some, or had musical elaborations, or both. He also covered "Purple Haze" and sang a song with the refrain "The sun doesn't shine when she's gone" which was probably a cover. Several songs, including "Roxanne" and "Walking.." he had the audience sing along.
This show was everything you could ask for, unless you were looking for straight "replays" of the songs from just the "Soul Cages" album. I would give an arm and a leg for a tape of this show. The level of energy and the quality of the music was as good or better than the shows taped for "Bring on the Night".
Has it been like this at all the shows?
To brag, he didn't talk much, (asked for requests once though) but he did mention that he'd played all over the world, and there wasn't anyplace as lovely as red rocks).
