I got really upset when the police broke up and decided not to buy Stings solo album Dream of ... in protest, because I blamed him for the break up. I finally ended up buying his album, and now have all his albums.
The first concert that I went to once I came to US was the Walden wood project concert at Madison Square garden in Oct 1991. There were all Billy Joel fans in NY, a pretty rowdy crowd, but there was only me and a friend of mine wearing Sting T-Shirts at the concert. Most of the crowd would ask each other " Who are you here to see" as Henley, Joel and Sting were to perform. Most of them weren't pleased when they asked us, who we came to see.
It was an excellent concert. Sting opened the concert with Driven to Tears, and the set list included Purple haze, Every breath you take, King Of Pain, Sos, Wrapped Around Your Fingers, Tea in the Sahara, Walking On The Moon, Roxanne, Every Little Thing , and some more tracks. He played all Police tracks for reason unknown except for Purple Haze.
I have introduced many friends to Police or Sting Music and enjoy discussing their views about their songs. I think this has been a pretty long intro. So I better go now.
