1802 PJ Boston, Great Wood Amp I got an email a few days ago that hurt. All it said was "I miss you"...from a dear dear close friend. It hurt because I have no good reason to be so invisible to those that matter to me--to my family and my friends. No matter what I am doin, I must make time or sacrifice something to be with them in the best way I can--be it here, email, phonecalls, or waht have you... I have been sadly lacking in this these past few months. I only dare to apologize. Life continues to be hectic...both at and away from work. I still find myself recovering financially from PJ, even as they played their tenth anniversary show Sunday night in Las Vegas...a show it killed me to miss; both for the friends and the band...mostly for the friends...In less than two weeks I make an appearance before the Sergeant Promotion Board. I feel a little mroe confident of myself than when I last wrote, but there is still a lot of studying to be done. I should have a practice board sometime this week. I have my new shiny boots, new shiny metals to replace the subdued colored ones, and a lot of information about leadership, army history, land navigation, NBC, ec. etc. in my noggin. Friday was 24 hour staff duty and that gave me some extra time to prepare... Saturday was the Fort Bragg Judge Advocate General Enlisted Dining Out (Military Ball). Present were various soldiers I have not seen much of lately, and many more I did not know. It was an interesting experience--a military ball...although I must say, that, for the most part, I found it farely boring ;P. The food wasn't too great (although better than some formals I have been to), the wine was absolutely terrible, and the company was a little above me since I knew few present... There was a professional photographer, however, doing formal pictures, so I ordered a package. It it turns out well I'll get a bigger packge and give it to mom as a christmas present...A decent picture of me in my military uniform has been long outstanding...and one of me in my formal military class A uniform is nonexistant. The last few days I have run my head off arranging for the appearance and pre trial interviewing of the witnesses for U.S. vs Fritz. SFC Wade and I have been doin some serious "leg" work tracking down soldiers and former soldiers. Friday is SFC Wade's last day b4 ANCOC (Advanced Non Commisioned Officer aCademy) and after that, everything is on my soldiers--including the new super hush hush cases that have recently arisen within the Brigade... Then, as always, I have the other basic duties to perform like Article 15s, chapter actions, and arranging for criminal escort duties and such. Tomorrow is a jump. There was to be one last friday--perfect day, no wind, sunny, day drop, combat equipment...but the birds both had "mechanical problems". We think the pilots simply wanted to hit the beer ot the links a bit early...Tomorrow's jump is a night drop, combat equipment. Should be a good one assuming it goes. Let's see, Corps Jag training tomorrow, i had a 15% company urinalysis yesterday--yay drink a shite load of water, piss in a bottle, and then piss seven times within the next four hours because of fluid overload. great stuff there. oh and TJAG is coming for a visit Friday--madatory attendance briefing for all the 71D's...and then an NCOPD on NCO authority directly afterwards--given by SFC Wade as the last thing he does b4 leaving for the month of November. Yup...exciting life. also
very exhausting. Just when i see the light at the end of the tunnel...I
seem to hear a train histling...
