SO I just booked virtually non refundable, tranferrable, or reapplicable funds airfare from Seattle to Chicago. (OK, so, actually...the change penalties are are $100 so I'd really only lose half of what I paid...still, i'd hafta fly by Feb 2002...which doesn't look so very friggin likely) And a rental car for less than 24 hours in Chicago.

So...let's see so far then...this is gonna be crazy: I am flying roundtrip on three different airlines, driving to LA from Antioch and back to SJ in a single day, renting cars from three different agencies. I'm going to Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago...in the span of five days.
My trip, grand total, is going to encompass approximately 16000 miles. I am going to spend like 52 hours in various types of aircraft and probably about 15 hours driving various rental cars in transit. 

I am seeing: Mom, Dad, Justine, Katrina, Carolyn, Ron, Neil Young, Pearl Jam, Eddie on Ukele, REM, Alanis (*sigh*), Ben, Bob (?), Tori!, Jen, Mirella, Danny, hopefully: Dianne, Barb, Grace, and all sorts of other freakish PJ fans like myself.

The concerts are going to take about 24 hours of my time in the states. 

I am going to get: Quality time with my parents, sister, nieces, and brotehr in law, very little sleep in the last few days and a trip I will remember for the rest of my life.
I am going to give: my family a visit and all sorts of cool asian trinkets, good cheer, a cd or tape here and there...

Boy oh Boy this trip is gonna ROCK!
