Lady Shiva fishes Vic out of the river and patches him up. She leaves him with Vic's friend Aristotle Roder. While he is convalescing he is visited by Batman. The Dark Knight accuses him of being a dilettante merely playing at being a hero. Batman reprimands Vic for not being obsessed enough. Shiva sends Vic to Richard Dragon to learn because she believes Vic has a fighting spirit. Richard sees that the reporter is driven by curiosity. Richard sends his pupil back to Hub City when he has recovered both physically. Back in Hub City pays a visit to Rev. Hatch to haunt the fallen man of the cloth.
