Anna's Poems

Circle in Heaven

I met five lads who lived down the zone.

We talked things over ice cream on sweet cones.
And I particularly liked the one they called Ro,
but he said I should call him Tin-tin, but then I don't know.

I also liked this boy named Stephen.
I tried to talk but he just went on sneezin'.
Maybe because the air was kinda cold,
so I just sat and talked to warm and lovin' Ro.

There was this guy who's name was Shane.
He had this strange eyebrow which seemed carelessly shaved.
He came over and told me the look was for MTV.
I could've asked more questions if it weren't for Keith.

Keith was very nice and he talked too much.
I couldn't understand but I didn't act as such.
He was talking about his kid though, that was very clear.
I almost got it if Ro never brushed his fingers through his hair.

Mikey was the first one to get another cone,
as he told me how he first got into the zone.
But then I turned to Ro and my smile began to fade
when Mike started talking about Ro's pet band-aid.

I grimaced at the thought, but the five lads just laughed.
They've gotten used to it, they said, as they took a photograph.
Nevertheless, his blonde hair and his smile sunk me low
into love as I stared at an angel named Ro.

The Irony Defined as Ronan

I hate him with his smooth golden mane.

I often wonder if he ever goes insane
when he runs his fingers through for the nth time
then it looks even better than any girl's so fine.

I hate it when he looks good in all black.
He never looks like a corpse who died a while back.
It's frustrating that all the fashion mistakes
look so good on him no matter what the date.

I hate him when he wears black with brown shoes.
Its the no-no of the century, though he doesn't have a clue.
It's as bad as wearing a pair of trainers with a suit
but he still looks great even if he wears rain boots.

I hate the full-blown amazon crawling on his chest.
It looks so icky though it helps him as the sexiest.
Why does an asset like this help him so?
I've asked lots of times but still I don't know.

I hate the band-aid that is wound into one finger.
It has been there for ages, if not forever.
It never ceases to disgust me how he still has it sticking
'coz it's moved from the place where it's supposedly fixing.

I hate the fact that his voice just swamps all the four.
It's like an involuntary solo and just wanting more.
His voice is the most audible, that I can't deny
just compare it with Stephen's, you'll know it's not a lie.

Never the less I love him the most for his silky hair
and his eyes so blue with skin so fair.
I love him with his angelic singing voice
and his heart so genuine and darned nice.

Also I adore him for the person he always is
with his smile and his twisted fashion sense.
How I could explain this all, I still don't know.
All there is to it is the irony called Ro.

Boyzone live at Wembley

There's Ro, Shane, Mike, Keith and Stephen.

Join them in the introduction late that evening.
They talked about the big crowd to be faced
then Ronan said lastly, "We're gonna make mistakes."

Their entrancce was peculiar, in an elevator shaft.
They had red glossy pants, maybe once part of a raft.
Just kidding about that but they did look grand as they sang
Together and broke into a dance.

The red thing had multiple zippers, that I see
then they moved to the song "Here to Eternity."
Mikey can sing! Then they slowed down the beat
from the swingy pop songs to "Arms of Mary."

Hey, they're dressing up backstage really fast
and didn't show much skin though that dash.
That was disappointing, we all began to say
and later were really surprised to hear a singing Shane.

Ronan looks good in white as he does in black
as he started "Father and Son" in his white slacks.
They moved to "Key to my Life", doing that disco theme.
Then an outstanding solo by the one they call Steve.

Carol came in the same time Ronan did.
"She Moves through the Fair" was an instant hit.
The sweet angelic voice echoed eternally in my ears
it's the great smile that comes along that I'd forever hold dear.

They said "Can't Stop Me" and then "I'll be there."
and for the nth time, Ronan brushed his hair.
Stephen brushed something else, for everyone to see.
It was "Love me for a Reason" and it made us all scream.

Here comes their last song, or so they say.
But they sang two other singles anyway.
It was "So good" then "Coming home now" after.
Then it was a Different beat and some laughter.

Now backstage, Ronan jumped and smiled.
They started hugging each other, I could just die
as Ronan's fine face came into the screen
while "Key to my Life" played as the theme.

And that was it, the concert was done.
I watched it on video but had tons of fun.
Saw Ro's car, heard Shane and Keith sing...
it's one of those great pleasures that life has to bring.
