How can I get on a Compilation tape?
OK, so you're in a band and you quite fancy having a track or two on one of these compilations. Here's the conditions that you have to meet:
- Your band must be unsigned, or if it is signed, your label must agree to your inclusion on the tape.
- You must fit into one of the categories outlined in the compilation descriptions on the Cantankerous Creations page.
- You must be willing to donate your track(s) free of charge for use on the compilation, as if I had to pay every band for their tracks, I'd have to charge far more for the tapes and less people would buy them!
What do I get for donating my track(s)?
In return for donating your track(s) to a compilation tape, you will receive a free copy of the finished tape, plus the opportunity to buy multiple copies of the tape at reduced prices.
OK, so what do I need to send you?
If you want a track on a compilation, I need the following things from you:
- A copy of your track(s) on very high quality Metal/Chrome tape (preferably a direct copy from your master recording) or CD. DATs are not acceptable at this time. Good quality live recordings are more than welcome, as are 'exclusive' tracks.
- A biography, discography, photograph, logo and contact address for your band. If this can be supplied on floppy disc (PC) this would be helpful. Use common file formats for images (.PCX, .BMP or .GIF) and send all text as basic .TXT files.
- A legal agreement must be made between us, so that if you are signed sometime in the future I will not get into trouble for having used your track(s). I've prepared a template for this agreement as a text file. Just copy it to disk and edit it accordingly.
Once you've got all that stuff together, send it all to the following address:
- Cantankerous Creations
- c/o Mat Corne
- 9 Corporation Street
- Stoke-on-Trent
- ST4 4AU
- England
When I get your submission I will make sure it is suitable for one of the tapes and inform you whether or not it will be used. Unused tracks will be returned if required.
