OASIS Faq
NEW MUSICAL EXPRESS
22nd May 1999
- "Stars Rally For Kosovo"
- Oasis,...have...contributed songs to "No Boundaries", a new album to raise money for Kosovan refugees. The album is released on June 14 through Epic and all profits will go to Oxfam, CARE and Doctors Without Borders, all organisations who are helping victims of the war in former Yugoslavia. Oasis have contributed "Take Me Away", the B-side to their 1994 debut single "Supersonic".
- Meanwhile, Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher look set to play a Kosovo benefit at London Kentish Town Forum on May 30. So far, the confirmed line-up features Weller and "very special guests" - believed to be Noel Gallagher - and Kelly and Richard Jones from Stereophonics performing an acoustic set.
- A spokesman for Gallagher saud that the Oasis songwriter had not confirmed his appearance as the band were working hard on their forthcoming album in France. But he hinted: "He's very busy, but it's an important cause and if he can be there he will be there."
- live cover version...Robbie Williams
- Robbie Williams, on tour in America has been performing cover versions during his set. At New York's Bowery Ballroom on May 4 he perfromed covers of Blur's "Song 2", The Beatles' "Hey Jude" and Oasis' "Wonderwall".
- songs in the key of life - Joe Cornish of The Adam & Joe Show
- on the tunes that made him a man
- record guaranteed to clear the dressing room
- anything by Oasis
- "I hate Oasis more than anything else in the world and always have done. All I have to hear is: "Today is gonna be the day" and I'd be out of here. I've got a pretty strong bias against rock, apart from The Bluetones and stuff I got into as a teenager."
