Since first introduction of agility in Slovenia back in 1989, I had been dreaming about participating in this sport. Neverthless, I followed my dreams and in 1990, get - a Samoyed...
I was of course adviced to get another dog when I wanted to sign in my first agility class in 1993 with three years old Samoyed, totally crazy and pretty disobedient.
But luckily - I insisted.Despite almost nine years of age and hip dysplasia, Aiken is still full of enthusiasm, but also another enthusiast, two and a half years old PyrShep Vedette is starting her agility career - so far, very successfully…
Our best resultats are: National Champion of Slovenia 1998 (Aiken) & 1999 (Vedette), best placed northern dog in World Championships (Aiken), part of Slovenian WC Team in 1997 (Aiken), 1998 (Aiken & Vedette) and 1999 (Vedette), wins from nine European countries, CACIAg (Aiken once, Vedette twice) etc.
I also lead agility (from puppy to competitor) classes in most successful agility club in Slovenia, KD Agility-Ilirija. With moto, that ANY dog can be trained for agility. Becuase after surviving training my crazy Samoyed, EVERYTHING is possible. Hopefully, one day it will be possible to start with my very own agility club too...
