8thSin, this Swedish five-piece started out in 2000, at the time comprised of only Michael Bohlin (Attention) and Tony Sarkka, better known as IT. They were both members of the now defunct Thrash band Brejndedd in the late 80s, plus IT has been involved with many other bands including; "Abruptum", "Ophthalamia" and "Vondur". He also co-formed "War" with Peter Tagtgren, and wrote lyrics for both "Marduk" and "Dissection". Basically the band's sound is a mix of Electronic, Industrial, and minor Metal influences with some Goth overtones. One can immediately hear comparisons to bands such as "My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult", the "Sinmasters", early "Ministry", "Rammstein", and every now and then you can even hear some "Rob Zombie" influences! Basically, every song sounds like it should have been on the first Crow soundtrack. So, you now probably have an excellent idea as to how this sounds. At times the disc can be a little frustrating because you don't know if you should be dancing to it, moshing to it, or just banging your head. There are a few moments of enlightenment to be found amongst its' eleven tracks, but in the end, I find the disc as a whole cannot compare to those that inspired it. Enjoyable, but in an overly crowded genre, it doesn't have the needed extra element to set itself apart from the crowd. Fore more info, you can find their official home at 8thsin.biz.
