AMERICAN DOG :
RED WHITE BLACK AND BLUE

American Dog have hit the mark with this new disc. Good ol' fashion Southern Rock, hopped up on "goofballs"! If you took The Four Horsemen, and stuffed them in the blender with Nasville Pussy, you'd get the sound found here. It's funny, at first I wasn't sure about the Four Horseman comparison, then I pulled out my copy of "Nobody Said It Was Easy", and holy shit, the back of these two discs (the inlay cards) look almost the same… very odd. Anyway, lead off track, "Shitkicker" sets the mood, and there's no letting up. Rough gravel filled vocals from Michael Hannon are in full effect, the kind that sound like he has been out on a bender for the last month, and the only reason he stopped was to record this disc. Fun, catchy songs like "Blame It On The Booze" will keep your interest, and a smile on your face. If your idea of a good time is poundin' a fifth of sour mash whiskey, and followin' it with a 6-pack of Budd, then this is essential to your trucks CD collection.
RATING = 8 Hard Southern-Rock (Released 2002)
