DAWNING

Power metal with balls, as well as some Progressive elements, is what's in store for you if you take a listen to Archetype's "Dawning". Originally forming in '97, the band didn't complete their line up until January or '99. They originally recorded this, their debut CD, in 2000, but were unhappy with the sound, so they scrapped all but the drums and rerecorded the whole thing in 2001! The results are worth the effort. Soaring vocals, sharp guitars, and solid double bass blasts, make for a well-rounded, gutsy disc. Its bands like this that are needed to remove the "cheese factor" so many metal fans associate with today's Power & Progressive Metal acts. Dawning definitely adds something fresh for fans of the genre. Well worth the hunt. For more info you can find the band at www.archetype1.com
