ASTRAL :
FILICETUM LUNARE

ASTRAL come from the Czech Republic, and were founded in 1996. One year later their debut album "Magia Aeon" was released, and is now impossible to find. However, "Filicetum Lunare", the bands follow up CD, just came out, but it is a prime example of goth metal gone wrong. The mellow parts drag on and on, and fail to invoke any reaction from the listener, or create any noticeable atmosphere. The heavy, Black-Metal influenced parts, aren't that heavy, and don't pack any punch. The "songs" sometimes don't even feel like actual songs, just unrelated bits that were pasted together. The vocals are another problem, they just seem to ramble on and on… Either, I need to be stoned, or Astral needs more focus, and structure, until then, I'll have to pass.
