AVIDOST :
A SILENT MASQUERADE

Coming at ya from Chicago Illinois, its Avidost! Avidost is a female fronted, Progressive Metal band, with some dark, goth-like undertones. On this 4 song demo, you can hear influences from Opeth to Maiden, mixed with Jennifer Gore's unique vocals. This is the kind of music that needs to grow on you, after the first listen, I just kind of shrugged my shoulders, and was like… whatever. After living with it for a couple weeks, I soon learned that my initial reaction was too hasty, and that there is some deep stuff going on here, that demands your full, undivided attention. Jennifer's voice is a perfect balance for this type of music, not harsh, but not a sweet and cutesy either. The highlight on here for me, is the moody track, "Game Called Ruin", which has some haunting vocals, a great chorus, and some Maiden-esque guitars popping up in the background. Fans of Fates Warning, Opeth, and maybe even Nevermore and Sentenced will definitely find this to their liking. For more info, get you ass over to www.avidost.com.
