THE BLOODY HOLLIES :
IF FOOTMEN TIRE YOU...

Hmmm, not sure if I love the band name, or think it's somewhat silly, I'll have to get back to you on that. However what I can tell you now, is that "If Footmen Tire You..." is one kick-ass slab o' screechin' Garage-Rock! Influences and/or comparisons can be made to bands from the 70s right up to the current wave of no-nonsense rockers. If your music collection is bulging at the seams with output from bands such as; Jet, the Stooges, The Hives, (early) Damned, The White Stripes, (early) Hellacopters, The Strokes, and The Vines, then you might as well break out your cheque-book right now, because your friends are all gonna laugh at you if they find this missing from your personal stacks o' wax (or I guess that's stacks o' shiny silver discs as it is these days). It's raw, it's primitive, and it's one hell of a catchy delightful ruckus! The band is from Buffalo New York, and this is their second offering to the world, a follow up to their 2003 debut "Fire At Will". There are really no low points during the disc's scant running time of just over thirty minutes, but there are some high points, such as the song "Gasoline", which just destroys! Now this is interesting, the press release states that the band were one of the last few to perform on the legendary BBC "Peel Sessions", before DJ and host John Peel past away. However, a search at the BBC's official Peel Sessions page turns up no mention of the band doing a session. Maybe they were invited, but never quite made it. Regardless, this still smokes, and if they didn't get to do that session, I'm sure if John was still around, they would have eventually. For more info, the band can be found on line at bloodyhollies.com.
RATING = 8 Garage-Rock (Released 2005)
