BROKEN TOYZ :
OUT OF THE BOX

There is something heart warming about bands like this. Bands that don't give a flyin' fuck about what's "in" or trendy. You won't find Broken Toyz rapping while grabbing their nuts, or wearing baggy pants 8 sizes too big. And you sure as hell won't find them on tour with Limp Bizkit. What you will find them doing, is playing music straight from the heart, and for these boyz, that means good, old fashion guitar driven rock. Elements of the 80s sleaze scene, southern boogie, and Led Zeppelin, can all be heard on this short 5 song EP. The lyrics aren't about any deep political opinion, or killing your parents while you worship Satan, the boyz prefer to sing about the real important things in life; pussy, drinkin', motorcycles, and more pussy. If ya need something deeper, go buy an R.E.M. or a Sting CD. These songs are pretty damn infectious. On the first listen, tracks like "Sexy Sadie" might sound kind of cheesy, but you'll end up humming it all day long, and as you race to put the CD back on later, you'll find yourself shaking like a heroine addict as you scramble for another hit. The best tune on here is a toss up between the rocker "High N Dry", and the more laid back "Into The Night", both take me back to the days of the late 80s, and early 90s, when the Toronto Metal scene was filled with hard-drinkin' leather-clad men and women, and dominated by such bars as the legendary "Rock N Roll Heaven", and "The Gasworks" (a hard rock shrine which Mike Myers immortalized in Wayne's World). Let me tell ya, those were the good old days my friend. The last tune on the disc is "Evil Hearted Woman"… if this doesn't make you wanna slip into a Jack Daniels induced coma, I don't know what will. So, if ya wanna go back in time, before MTV ruined it for everyone, check out Broken Toyz. You can start at www.brokentoyz.com
