CHARLIE DROWN :
SILENT RIZING

Based out of Vancouver Canada, Charlie Drown is a new force to be reckoned within the performance-art, shock-metal scene. Charlie Drown is the name of the hot-demented-female vocalist, as well as the band. I want to call this CD Nu-Metal, but that's not quite right, the guitar playing is too good to be lumped in with that group. There are also times on this disc when I am reminded of Marilyn Manson. The extremely aggressive vocals are in the vein of Tairrie B. of Tura Satana/Manhole/My Ruin fame, and are sung as well as shouted, and shoved down your throat. The hooks are huge, and songs like the second track, "Dominhater", are so instantly catchy, that you'll be clearing a place to mosh right where you stand. This could be a problem when listening to your disc-man on the subway. These guys could blow away 90% of the bands on the Ozzfest bill this year. And Charlie could easily make all 9 members of Slipknot her bitches.
