CRASH :
TO BE OR NOT TO BE

Crash are one of the most popular metal bands in Korea. I just received their second CD "To Be, Or Not To Be" from a globe-trotting family member. This is a 1995 release, but since most people outside of Korea have not herd of them, I’ve decided to post this review. On this outing, Crash is made up of : guitars - Yun Du Byoung, drums and programming - Jung Yong Uk, and Ahn Heung Chan on bass, vocals and samples. Crash is a blend of extreme metal styles, incorporating traditional thrash, Napalm Death style UK grind core, chunky Sepultura-ish riffs, and technical death metal, a-la Fear Factory. The songs are in English, but of course, with death style vocals, it hardly makes much of a difference. Not every song on the CD is a winner, but when they get the double bass going, they shred! This CD sounds a little dated now in 2001, but its still a quality product, I would defiantly like to hear their latest CD "Terminal Dream Flow". So, should you pay the big import $$? Well, only if you need something new, as there are better bands doing this. If you can find it for a descent price, grab it.
RATING = 7 Thrashy Grind Core (Released 1995)
