THE CRIMSON GHOSTS :
LEAVING THE TOMB

"Leaving The Tomb" is the debut album from this German band of undead Horror-Punks. Quite frankly kids, this puppy rawks! Plus, you know it rawks extra-hard because I used the extra-cool, incorrect way of spelling rocks. Here's the deal, the band is apparently made up of reanimated serial killers, that were brought back to life by the Zodiac Killer in the late 70s via black magic. ...Ok, sounds simple enough... All kidding aside, it looks like "The Crimson Ghosts" are about to give "Blitzkid" a run for the money, as they try to pluck the Horror-Punk crown from the rotted skulls of its current owners. What, you say The Misfits own that crown? Not a chance my friend. They used to own it, but ever since Graves, Chud, and Doyle left the band, that crown has been up for grabs. The sideshow that Jerry Only is currently hauling around the globe and calling The Misfits, is nothing more than a joke. Anyway, enough about our fallen heroes, let's checkout the disc at hand shall we? What we have here are fifteen cuts that bare a strong resemblance to what the "Newfits" were doing before their implosion. The Crimson Ghosts however seem to have a little more edge to them. The songs seem punchier, more frenzied and energetic. Vocalist "Vlad" has a strong voice, and the band can deliver solid melodic grooves just as well as straight-up thrashy interludes. The faster parts really make your old tired bones wanna skank it up in the ol' mosh-pit! I'm playing this while sitting at my desk, and I can't seem to stop my legs from bouncing, or my feet from tapping. This disc is truly infectious! The Crimson Ghosts are a more than welcome addition to this growing genre, and I'll be there with bells on when their next disc rolls around.
