THE CRUXSHADOWS :
TEARS - CD SINGLE

It's hard to get the feel for a band, or judge them on just one extended single, but that's what I have, so that's what I'll do. This Florida based band started out in 1992, and has undergone many line up changes over its 10-year history. The current incarnation includes; founding member Rogue (Vocals, Violin, Keyboard Programming, Drum Programming, and Bass Programming), Rachel McDonnell (Keyboard, and Violin), Chris Brantley (Keyboard, and Synthesizer), and Stacey (Guitar, and backing vocals). The band's sound brings to mind older New-Wave bands from the 80s such as OMD, but with a darker edge, and a goth image. Rogue's digitally augmented vocals swirl continuously around pulsating dance beats. The music is not the most original stuff I've heard, but it's done well, with crystal clear production, which helps give it a warm, inviting feeling. This should get your goth-ass on the dance floor, even if you're a life long member of the "ImsogothIdontdance" tribe. Give the disc a couple spins before you judge, the first listen didn't grab me, but by the third time around, these songs were buried in my brain for the long haul.
