StoriesIt was May 19, 1985. I was at the Wherehouse in Encino, California coming to see the stars of my favorite show, Kids Incorporated. Everyone was there Renee, Stacy, Martika, Rahsaan, and Jerry Sharell; it was fantastic. Well, after that I started going to the live tapings of Kids Inc.. They only filmed during the summer, so every year I couldn't wait to go to another taping of Kids Inc.. I always thought that everyone was so talented on the show, I never dreamed that they would recognize me each and every time I was there and that they would welcome me into their lives the way they did. Renee and Stacy have long since been away from Kids Inc. pursuing other interests. It was only a few years ago that they got together with Stefanie Ridel to become what they are today, Wild Orchid. Three talented young ladies who in my opinion will go a long way. They have a bright future. The group is Wild Orchid. You can get their debut CD at your local music stores or wherever CD's are sold; their second CD has been taken off the shelves, but will be rereleased soon. By Jean-Paul Hellendall web master On September 22, 1997, I attended a private performance with Wild Orchid at Manhattan's Cheetah night club. The event was sponsored by Guess? apparel and Macy's (The girls are official models of Guess?). My ticket into the performance: a plaid Guess? shirt and swim trunks from Macy's. Other Wild Orchid fans have told me about their wonderful experiences with Wild Orchid. They were able to talk to them, get autographs, etc. I was hoping that I would have that experience. The girls began their performance with "My Tambourine." Some lucky guy got up on stage to be their "tambourine." If only I was that tambourine. They also performed "Supernatural," "At Night I Pray,"and my favorite, "Talk to Me." Unfortunately, that was it. They said good night and left (Sorry, Angie and Joe, wanted to say "hi" to them for you). I felt a little down because they didn't sing any more of their songs. The club provided complementary CD singles of "Supernatural." That made me feel a little better. Although the night wasn't what I expected, I was happy to see Wild Orchid live. They are a terrific group to watch. Definitely one of the rising pop/dance groups. Go see them if they come to your town. I took some photos of the performance. Unfortunately, they came out too dark, so I can't show them. Sorry! If you're ever looking for a photographer, I'm NOT the one. LOL Story by Raymond Kung
