My name is Rob Stephenson and I live in Richmond, Virginia USA.
I'd like to welcome you to my humble domain.
Ok ok ok...you're prolly wonderin' how I got into RUSH, well that's an easy answer. I've been a Rush fan for about almost 10 years now. I was introduced to Rush by my good friend, Daniel Lee Cousins (see !mysterium! ) about around the time of Rush's "Presto" album came out. Dan calls me up one day and says, "Check out this band, Rob. They're called Rush! And their drummer is fuckin' cool!" Dan went on and played a selection over the phone. I didn't think of it at first, but after I saw Rush's "Show Don't Tell" video, I started asking Dan if I could borrow his tapes. Also, him and I had a band together and he would constantly play "Exit...Stage, Left" on the stereo, so this also had a big influence on me. ever since then, it's all been, shall I say, "down hill from there??" (LAUGH!).
As for the questions of who I am and what I like to do, well...that's a toughy.
I'm basically a machinist apprentice by day at
Kosmo Machine Inc. (a local high tech
machine shop. Check out this link. I tend to work on all the multi-axis mills)
and a semi-professional drummer by night. I'm also married to my ever so
lovely and supportive wife, Sue (for whom I tend to drive crazy with my music
collection). Some of my interests include, college and NFL football, league
bowling, music, music and more music, trying out and drinking all kinds of
import and micro-brew beers (I tend to prefer european ales), computers games
(whenever my computer can run them), reading (e.i.: history, comics, factorial,
etc.), and generally anything that catches my fancy. Oh yeah, did I mention
music also??? Another interst I love is my computer. I've completely "RUSH-ified"
it to the max!
How did I get into computers?? EASY! I thank my "adoptive
brother", Chris "Flash" Conner for this one. It all started while in highschool,
I happened to be at his house and he was on his old K-Pro computer playing
Trade Wars on a local BBS (Bulletin Board System). The game facinated me
along with the other chat-oriented BBSes i saw. I was instantly hooked. Since
then, Flash and I have remain dear and faithful friends over the past 5+
years, considering that he's only about 6 hours away from me, we STILL manage
to keep the friendship alive (amazing, huh??). Simply, he taught me how to
play Trade Wars and how to get into BBSing, and now I-net surfing (how'd
did you think I got into the ICQ thing??? HMMMMM??????)
Anyways, enough boring shit about me...off you go!
