The musician

Luigi Salerno

He was born in Alba on 3rd July 1970 and describes himself as a "scrivante" and a "musicante", halfway between a musician and an itinerant. In 1994 he began to dedicate himself to his talent for music and moved from Alba to Milan. Here he set up a trio and started to perform his own pieces in the city's nightclubs. In March 1995 two of his songs ("Passa tutto" and "Per te") were recorded in Danilo Amerio's CD titled "Ho bisogno d'amore" which participated in the 1995 edition of the Festival di San Remo. Meanwhile he went on playing in Milan. In January 1997 he moved to Rome and in July he met the musicians who were to compose the Verbal Kint. He has continued to work with Danilo Amerio and as a matter of fact other songs of him have been included in the new CD of Amerio to be launched in the next few months. As part of the Verbal Kint, Luigi Salerno plays the piano and his voice makes the band's style different from the others'.

Augusto Creni

He was born in Rome on 6th December 1971 and works as a musician. He studied at "Centro Romano della Chitarra" (a school specialized in guitar playing based in Rome) and the school "Mazzini 119" where he began to study arrangement and composition. His employment experience ranges from long feature film compositions (cartoons) and advertisement jingles to theatre music and concerts. He arranges and plays a wide range of compositions, from classical music to the latest jazz trend. At present, not only he works with Luigi Salerno, he also studies at the Conservatory of Pesaro. As part of the Verbal Kint, Augusto Creni plays both the electric guitar and the acoustic one mostly producing the melodious sounds typical of Luigi Salerno's music.

Francesco Redig de Campos

He was born in Rome on 31st January 1972. He lives and works in the capital where he plays the electric bass as well as the traditional double bass (with the Orchestra Giovanile S. Pio V) and the jazz one. He performed, and still performs, with many Roman artists in the most famous nightclubs both in Rome and outside it. He has played short film and theatre play soundtracks. As part of the Verbal Kint, Francesco Redig de Campos only plays the double bass sometimes using the bow and giving an important rhythmical support as well as a wide range of sound ideas.

Alfredo Agli

He was born in Rome on 2nd June 1965 and has played the drums since… he can't remember! He has studied as a self-taught artist for a long time and then attended the percussion school "Timba" where he improved his ability to read scores; later on he studied with Gianni di Renzo. His wide range of musical experience includes his being part of the group which supported Riccardo Vannuccini's play "Storie nella Città di Dio". As part of the Verbal Kint, Alfredo Agli plays his instrument both as a rhythm-setter and a percussionist; he is continuously searching for different styles and sounds, depending on the kind of music he has to play, and comes out to be a most original drums player.

Luca Majnardi

He was born in Rome on 14th July 1963. He began to study the trumpet in 1982 and during the military service he was appointed First Trumpet in the Band of the Third Missile Brigade of Portogruaro. He performed with different groups such as the Mississippi Jazz Club Orchestra and after a short pause started to play again. Together with the Jolly Rockers band he won the 1992 edition of the contest Rock targato Italia and participated in the 1993 edition of Sanremo Giovani. He played all the records of the Latte e i suoi derivati band and is now performing with the most famous Roman groups. As part of the Verbal Kint, Luca Majnardi plays the trumpet superbly sometimes using the mutes and, where possible, ad-libbing.
