CHARTER

This is the guilds charter, all members are supposed to follow it to the best of there ability. It's very open....

"Sybarite Order"

The Sybarite Order consists primarily of young and adventurous nobles who have little chance of holding high positions elsewhere outside of the order. These nobles tend to be thrill seekers who pursue danger with reckless abandon and little care for their own personal safety. A noble of this order may join an adventuring party or hunting expedition just for this reason alone, regardless of the potential for momentary gain or fame earned . This same thrill seeking affliction causes many Sybarites to become entangled in guild intrigues and even full fledged campaigns. There is almost no excitement or danger an experienced Sybarite would willingly avoid.

Within the Sybarite Order there is a great potential for wealth to be gained, and a noble status is almost a given. Nobles of the order tend to develop certain traits (if they do not already possess them) that are held in common. These include a personal charismatic charm and attractive appearance, a strong social base with ties to many allies and freinds that can be called upon for aid, and a strong literacy and uderstanding of the power of communication; that is to say, when a Sybarite speaks, people will listen.

For a noble of the Sybarite Order, there are a few disadvantages that may apply. These may include addiction to adventure, bullying those with no taste, compulsive behaviour, delusions of power and prestige, an appetite bordering on gluttony, gullibility; especially to those of the opposite gender, impulsiveness, phobias; usually having to do with fear of tedious work related projects, lack of respect for the gods and forces of nature, jealousy of those with any style, lecherousness, overconfidance and other traits typical of jaded high blooded nobles. Harsher negative traits are entirely possible, but it is hoped not as likely to occur. Lazyness can be common but only to those that have done there share within the order. Hard work is a common favorite pursuit; in the case where it wouldn't be considerd work. This aversion to laborious endeavors might explain why Sybarites have abandoned their noble responsibilities elsewhere before joining the order.

Any semblance of a sense of duty is usually thrown right out the window (with a few exceptions), however, a Sybarite noble almost always follows a gentleman's/lady's code of honor.

CODE OF HONOR:

You take pride in a set of principles that you occasionally follow. The codes all differ but tend to require brave and honorable behaviour. The code can also be called, "face," "pride," or whatever. No matter what the name, it is the willingness to risk death rather than act in a dishonorable fashion. A code of honor tends to be a disadvantage for all who know about it. It often requires reckless and dangerous behaviour; getting the Sybarite noble into unfair situations if the foe knows of his code. This of course, should not bother a Sybarite.

GENTLEMAN'S/LADY'S CODE OF HONOR:

Never break your word. Never ignore an insult to you, your guild, or a noble lord or lady. Insults are wiped by apology or a duel (not necessarily to the death!). Never take advantage of an honorable opponent if it can be helped. Discourtesy from anyone of lower or ignoble status deserves a whipping or a lesson but is beneath the honor of a duel.

Sybarites, often have any of the full range of Skills, Usually talanted with combat skills but again not necessary.

Sybarites, often have any of the full range of skills at their command, usually talented with combat skills but neccessarily so. It is rare to see a Sybarite who is over specialized in one area at the expense of all others and they tend to be well rounded to tackle a variety of situations.

The official guild colors are handed out by the GuildMaster, being a dark crimson, lavender, and black. Unless you match the colors exactly, request of the Sybarite Emperor to dye your clothes. "To look the same, is to be intimidateing."
