Beautiful Stranger

CHAPTER SIX

"Hello?" I said groggily, being that it was 1:00 in the morning.

"Hey babe. Its Sean," he whispered. "Do ya think you could do me a big favor?" he asked a little louder.

"Sure," I said wondering what it was he wanted me to do. I tried to wipe the sleep out of my eyes. "I mean, I hope so."

"Well its nothing that big, just meet me at the Muse in 30 minutes." There was a brief pause. "Hey, do you think you can do that?" he asked softly.

"Yeah, sure," I said without thinking. "What’s the emergency?" I asked curiously.

"Oh, no emergency. I just wanted to see you," he said sweetly.

"You couldn't wait until tomorrow?" I said jokingly.

"Well that’s the thing," he said reluctantly. "I have to cancel our date tomorrow. That’s why I figured I'd call you up tonight."

"Oh," I said softly. "Oh that’s fine. Really!" I said with more energy.

"You sure babe?" he said, sounding genuinely concerned.

"Of course. Whatever it is, its gotta be important," I said hoping he might reveal his plans.

"Thanks so much babe. Ill see ya in 30," he said quickly before hanging up.

I wondered what was going on as I hopped out of bed and into the shower.

It was 1:33 as I left my warm house and hit the cold air. I climbed into my car sluggishly, still wiped out and started the ignition. I stopped, and looked into the vanity mirror to check my appearance. I looked okay I guess. It'd be dark at the Muse anyway. I hadn't bothered with eyeshadow, just a light coat of mascara, some powder and my lipstick. I threw on my sunglasses too, even being as it was 1:30 in the morning.

I started the car and drove the 5 miles to the Muse to meet Sean. I fumbled with the radio, in a last ditch effort to wake myself up a little more. I came upon a decent sounding song and kept it there. I hummed the tune the rest of the way there.

When I got there, I was greeted by the guy at valet and he took my car and I paid him the fee. I started up the walk to the bar. I was so excited! Being that I was only 21, I hadn't been to many bars. I'd always wanted to go to the Muse though.

I checked myself out in the window as I walked into the bar. I was wearing my tight black pants, my spaghetti strap pink t-shirt, and my big leather jacket. As I walked in, I looked around. Suddenly, somebody grabbed me.

"Summer, hey," Sean said, acting very mysteriously.

"Hey," I said confused. "Wha...?" I blurted out.

"Oh yeah. Sorry about all this," he said apologetically. "I just want to, uh, be alone," he said. I was starting to think something weird was going on. But one flash of that smile, and I was back in la-la land.

"So where do you wanna go?" he asked me.

"I thought we were gonna-" He cut me off.

"I thought we'd go somewhere a little more private," he suggested. He turned around abruptly and looked all around the room. His eyes were wild and the look almost resembled fear.

"Um, ok. Sure," I said slowly.

"Great. Lets jet," he said as he grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the bar.
