» CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR «

"Bye, Morgan!" one of the dancers adjourned.

I waved warmly and hopped out of the humid locker room. Outside, was AJ waiting patiently. "You ready yet? I've been ready for like, ten minutes!"

"I'm so sure, Mr. Fashionable-Perfect," I teased.

"For short, you can call me ‘Mr. Perfect'."

"You are so conceited, Bone!" I laughed as we walked down the hall, "Did you know that?"

"No, I just take pride in my looks, is that such a sin? To look as good as I do?" He guffawed.

I punched his shoulder lightly as we entered the lounge. There were a few dancers and the guys. "Hey ya'll." I saluted everybody.

"Hey, honey," Brian greeted and kissed me on the cheek. I sat down next to him on the floor.

We discussed what we were going to do with our freedom from work. I announced, "Well, I dunno what I am gonna do exactly..." I looked at my watch. "But for right now, AJ and I need to get our butts to the mall. Let's go, Mr. Perfect."

Brian put his hands on his hips in a mocking gesture. "Mr. Perfect? I thought I was your Mr. Perfect! And AJ, how could you? You were my best friend!"

"I'm sorry, man." AJ threw his hands above his head. "She's just too good for you. She needed a REAL man to take care of her. I was the best dude for the job!"

Everyone chuckled, but Brian played on, "Ya'll make me sick! I thought you were something, AJ. A good friend. But instead, I was stabbed in the back by a two-timin', no good rat! I'm not speaking to you again!" We keeled in hysterics by the display they were maintaining. I couldn’t help smirking at the actions that they were doing.

"C'mon, baby," I spoke to AJ, "You don't need to take this. Bye, loser." I winked at Brian and he smiled in a goofy way. AJ and I left. "That was very weird."

"Thanks, Sugar," AJ spoke, still in a jest tone.

"So, where do you wanna hit first?" I asked when we entered the huge mall.

"So many choices, so little time..." He looked at the mall map. "Well, I need to get a pair of sunglasses..."

"You have two bigillion already!" I bursted.

"I know, but you know the saying, ‘The more, the merrier'."
