» CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE «

"You are a twisted man, Alexander." I grabbed his hand and led him down a hall crowded with frantic or chatty shoppers.

We entered a sunglasses shop. "Ah, my haven!" AJ placed his hands high in the air, as if he had reached a much-wanted utopia. He began rummaging through aisle after aisle.

I laughed. "Mr. Perfect, I think I found your only imperfection..."

"Bless this establishment!" AJ ignored my comment, but kept clowning around anyway. The clerk stared at him in disbelief.

"He's kind of berserk," I admitted to her. She nodded and warily proceeded to her work. I walked up to AJ. "Maintain yourself!"

"Sorry, they were all so overwhelming." He beamed with foolishness and put on a pair of glasses. He placed a cheesy look on his face and said, "How do I look? Are you jealous that you don't got the goods?"

"Goods?" I questioned his choice of words.

"The looks," he detailed. He looked at me. "Yup. You wish you had some so you could share with Brian."

I hit him. "You are such a pervert... At least I am not in love with Ella..." Ella was this mid-aged woman that had 3 girls that loved AJ. Ella was very pudgy, and had many wrinkles. She "had no style or taste" as AJ described her skeptically.

"Ugh, don't even get me started!" He shuddered and I laughed again.

"That's okay, man. You don't have to admit... This is the first stage in love. Denial."

"You are so full of imagination!" AJ exclaimed and walked to the check-out counter.

"And that's why you love me, right?" I played more.

"Yes ma'am." He kissed my cheek. He paid the total price and received the bag from the careful employee. "Thanks a bunch. C'mon, Lady, let's go."

We walked through the mall and stopped in stores that had a sale or looked interesting. We crossed a tattoo parlor and I eyed AJ. "Don't even think about it, buddy."

"I won't, I won't... Geez, you guys are all so skeptical."
