I nodded and sighed. "I have no idea what the hell is up with me... I'm not in my usual mood. You know that. It's just... I feel like I need to do something, but my mind makes a blank."

Brian nodded and lightly played with my hair. I smiled as best as I could, but I couldn't get over the vibe of vacancy. "I know what I can do... No, that wouldn't work..."

"What?" he asked.

"I was thinking, maybe it's us. We've been spending so much time together..." I said as a joke.

He looked at me. "Maybe we should separate for a while. We need our time apart."

He looked at me so seriously. I didn't mean my proposal. "No... I was just playing... You can't possibly mean it."

Brian grew quiet. "We need time without each other."

"No . . ."

"I'm sorry. Just for a little while, Morgan," he told me, "It's not a break-up and I do love you. But if you love me enough, then you would understand." Tears started to fall from my eyes. "Oh, please don't cry. I hate to see you like that. You are so much more beautiful when you aren't like this. I will love you still. Even if you do leave, Morgan. That will never change. And I'm sure I am a pain in the butt. Admit it, you do get tired of me sometimes." He studied my face. "Where's that smile I love so much?"

I smiled slightly. "I do get tired of you. Especially with those corny jokes of yours."

"Hey!" he objected, "Those are priceless pieces of material."

I got up and turned to him once again. "Good-bye." I kissed his lips once more, then left. I avoided any of the other boys, thinking that Brian would explain to them.

I got in my car and drove away from their house. But instead to my house, I went to a coffee shop. I ordered a coffee and grabbed a newspaper. I leafed through it and found the Entertainment section.

Guess who was front page, amazing and amusing enough? Backstreet Boys.
