"I don't care." I turned around and watched the soft pitter-patter as the thousands of droplets fell on the lake's surface. Little circles enveloped us. "You can turn around," he instructed.

I turned back around. My face got hot. "I'm blushing, aren't I?"

"Yes, I'll take it as a compliment," he assured me.

"I'm always like this," I lied and splashed the cold water on my burning face.

"Your lips are turning blue," he noted, "You are shaking. C'mere for a sec." I waded closer to him. "I won't bite, Morgan," Brian gestured to me, "Closer."

I was about 5 inches away. He pulled me into his embrace. He was cold, too. In this weather, in the water, he was cold, but he seemed warm. He rubbed my back, trying to generate some heat.

"We should go," I told him.

"Yeah." He let go of me. I felt sorry because he let go. What am I thinking about?
