» CHAPTER THREE «
~ Amanda ~
"Sugar, did you remember your wallet?" Howie asked.
"Shoot! No. It's on my dresser." I put my hands in my pockets.
"Aren't you glad Nick's your brother?" Nick asked as he pulled my wallet out of his pocket.
"Thanks." I pulled out a five, then put the wallet in my pocket.
After I ordered, paid, and got my food, I found a booth to sit at. I sat down near the window and began to chow down, when Brian planted himself next to me.
Every once in a while, Brian would steal one of my fries. I'd steal one of his and we'd laugh at each other. Nick sat down across from Brian, and AJ sat down across from me. At the booth next to us, Kevin sat across from Howie.
As we all sat there eating, a girl about the age of 15 came over to our booth.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, are you gonna have concerts here in the fall?" she asked as she looked at Nick.
"Yeah. We'll be here in October. Will you be at the concert?" Nick asked.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world," the girl answered.
"What planet are you from? Mars?" AJ said in a low voice.
I kicked him under the table to tell him to shut up. He looked at me with a "what did I do?" expression on his face. I couldn't take it, and he knew it. AJ cracked a smile and I started laughing.
I backhanded him in the arm as I leaned across the table. "God, you're so mean." I crossed my arms over my chest. "Don't say that about Nick." The girl had already left by that time. Nick looked at AJ.
"What did you say?" Nick asked.
"Nothing," AJ answered.
"Tell me." Nick glared at him.
"He asked if you were from Mars. Wasn't that it?" I asked AJ.
"What'd you say that for?" Nick looked at him.
"Just cuz you asked the girl if she was going to our concert. By the way she was looking at you, that was a no-brainer." AJ smiled as he stuck a fry in my mouth.
"Hey," Nick replied. AJ shrugged his shoulders as Brian and I laughed.
Nick pouted. "That wasn't funny." He cracked up laughing as he saw Brian stick a fry in his mouth.
"Guys, can we finish eating and be mature? I want to go bowling," Kevin said as he looked at Brian.
Brian stuck a fry up his nose.
"Well, that answers my question. Can we still finish eating?" Kevin rolled his eyes.
I laughed as a girl sitting behind AJ gave Brian a disgusted look. Brian shrugged his shoulders at her and she laughed.
"Get that out of your nose," I scolded Brian. "You're 23, not 4."
"Sorry." Brian took it out his nose and ate it. "I just wanted to have fun."
"Gross," Nick said as he looked away from Brian.
Nick saw me and started laughing so hard, he almost spat out his drink. He couldn't stop laughing and pointing. When Brian saw my face, he laughed. I had put shake all over my chin and my nose.
"Now, who's the immature one?" Kevin asked.
"Okay, okay. We'll finish. We need to go bowling and kick AJ's butt." I wiped it off with my napkin.
"Please, people. You could never beat my butt." AJ looked at us.
"Well, let's finish and then we'll just see about that challenge you just named." I finished off my Quarter-Pounder.
"You're on," AJ replied as he finished his fries.

"I thought we were gonna have the place to ourselves," Amanda said as we walked into the bowling alley.
"We are. We're early a little bit. Hopefully, nobody recognizes us and we can get to bowling in 15 minutes." Nick looked around and found a spot where we could sit without being seen by everybody.
"Man, I need a drink. If I walk out there and get it myself, I'll be recognized for sure." I looked at the snack bar.
"All right. I'll get it. What do you want?" she asked as I gave her some money.
"Uh....Coke and whatever you want."
"Okay. Anything else?" She looked at the others.
"Yeah. Can I get a Coke, too?" AJ asked.
"Sure." She took the money from him as Nick, Kevin, and Howie took out some money.
"Get me a Coke and a Twix," Nick said.
"I'd like an Iced Tea with a lemon slice," Kevin said.
"Make mine a Sprite," Howie said.
She took all the money and went to the snack bar.
~ Amanda ~
"Can I help you?" a guy asked as I looked at the counter. I looked up and saw a gorgeous blonde behind the counter.
"Uh, yeah. I need three Cokes, a Twix, an Iced Tea with a lemon slice, and a Sprite. Oh, can you make one of the Cokes a supersize?" I asked as I stated what the guys wanted.
"Sure." The blonde went and got all the items I had asked for.
"How am I gonna carry all this stuff?" I asked the boys without thinking. They shrugged, but the blonde thought I was asking him.
"Uh, I have a tray you can use until you get there. I'd help you, but I can't leave the counter." The blonde set everything on a tray.
"Thanks. How much?" I took out the money.
"That'll be $9.90 please." The blonde took a ten from me. "Here's ten cents."
I kept the guys' money since they owed me it. I had used a ten of my own to pay for it since it would've been easier. Each guy had given me two bucks, including Nick. I decided to be nice and forget about the change that he owed me.
I brought the tray full of drinks back to the room that the guys were sitting. I gave each guy their item. Brian looked at me as I gave him his extra big drink. Nick and the rest of the guys thanked me before I returned the tray to the blonde at the counter.
"What'd you get a big one for?" Brian asked me as I sat down next to him.
"I didn't want my own, so I got it bigger so I could split it with you. That okay?" I looked at him.
"No problem. I was thinking that, but wasn't sure." Brian took a sip of his Coke.
"Hey, where's my change?" AJ asked.
"I kept it." I looked at him.
"What for?" AJ took a sip of his Coke.
"Service charge." I took a sip of Brian and I's drink.
"Oh, I owe you some, don't I?" Brian asked.
"No. I bought it big. You gave me enough for both of us, remember? If anything, I owe you some money." I began to reach in my pocket.
"Forget it. I've owed you for something before. Don't worry about it." Brian laughed.
"What's so funny?" I asked.

I pointed to a lane where a girl had gotten a strike. Her friends were dancing like they had made a touch down in football. Nick laughed so hard that some pop flew out his nose.
Amanda hid behind me as it shot in our direction. "Gross!" she shrieked.
"It hit the floor," I said. "Nick, wipe your nose off."
Nick, embarrassed with his face beet red, took a napkin and wiped his nose off. "I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to do that. You guys just got me laughing so hard after I had just gotten done taking a drink."
"That's all right," Amanda said as she sat back up. "As long as it didn't hit me, I'm fine."
"You're so rude," Kevin told her.
"Why?"
"Well, you're being mean to your brother." Kevin took a sip of his tea.
"He knows I love him, anyway." She looked at Nick.
"It's a bonding issue we're going through right now. We can't figure out whether we love or hate, so we tell each other both of them," Nick supplied.
"That makes sense," AJ said sarcastically.
"It would if you had any siblings," Amanda replied.
"I do. I have...." AJ looked off to count. "Six of them. You, Nick, Brian, Howie, Kevin, and Aaron. That's six. I only have one sister."
"Well, anyway. That's what happens when you're a year apart from your sibling," she explained.
"She's the worst," Nick said.
"Uh," she huffed.
"If it helps, I love you," Howie told me.
"Thanks, Howie. I love you, too." Amanda smiled at Nick.
"Do you guys really love each other?" Kevin asked Nick and Amanda.
"Yeah. I tell her that everytime we talk on the phone or before she goes to bed, and so on." Nick looked at her.
"Of course, why wouldn't I? He's the best big brother I could ever have." She blew him a kiss.
"Thanks, sis." Nick grabbed it, then blew one back.
"You guys are freaks," AJ commented.
"I think it's cute," I replied.
"What?" Nick looked at me.
"From her perspective. From your's, you look like a sweet brother," I clarified.
"Okay. That sounds better." Nick looked out and saw that everyone had left. "Let's go bowl!"
