» CHAPTER ONE «

19 year old Julie Andrews and 20 year old Kristin Walker of the group Gemini sat at a table for two inside a small pizza store in one of the largest malls in Tampa, Florida.

They had ordered a large plate of fries and a small pizza and were chatting about different things.

"It was so funny though!" Julie said laughing and reaching for her Mountain Dew. "They were screaming and yelling, and I had no choice but to stop and sign autographs for an hour. Then they got security and made everyone clear out! I will definitely never forget that."

"That's classic!" Kristin said as she bit into her third slice of pizza. She then looked at the slice of pizza and put it back down on the plate. "Ugh, I'm eating so much, by the time we leave this place I'll be a two ton whale!"

"Ok, first off. You aren't going on any diets. You're as skinny as a flagpole, second, you aren't fat, you never were fat, you will never be fat. Third, are you going to eat that?"

Kristin instantly burst into laughter. "I hate you! And yes, I'm going to eat this," she said as she took another bite of her slice of pizza.

Kristin and Julie had been friends for what seemed like ages. They had both gone to the same public school, the same junior high, and the same high school. They were very alike in taste, both liked R&B, some rap and some rock, were into the alternative scene and enjoyed some pop acts like the Backstreet Boys, and Christina Aguilera. The only difference between the two were their taste in guys, and their looks.

The both of them were very different when it came to looks. Kristin had long blonde straight as a wall hair with thin bangs and the typical blue eyes. She was 5 foot 8 and was the shortest of the two. She had perfect teeth, and a small nose. In the eyes of many, she was considered perfect.

Julie was 5'10 and the tallest. She had natural auburn hair (black and red mixed), brown eyes and a perfect tan. She had always said "when you grow up in Florida and live by the beach a tan is almost unavoidable!".

Kristin had always liked preppie type guys. She had grown up in a rich family and was brought up to like the best and only the best.

Julie loved the rebellious type, the kind who had a motorcycle and could show her a good time. She came from a good family also and didn't dress like a rebel or act like one. Kristin always joked saying, "she has a supressed rebel inside, sorta like most of us have a lil kid inside."

Recently though, they had both switched their likes in guys. Julie was dating Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, the young 20 year old, who wanted to be a rebel, but failed miserably when it came to proving he was one. Kristin was dating AJ McLean also of the Backstreet Boys. She loved his spunkiness and had always wondered why she had never "hooked up" with someone like him before.

"I can't wait till the guys come home today!" Julie exclaimed finishing the last of her slice of pizza.

"Me either! 4 months away from home is enough!" Kristin finished her drink and fished around in her purse for her watch. "I wonder what time it is." Kristin said while trying to see what the hands on Julie's watch read.

"Holy crap!" Julie said taking her wallet out, "We hafta go!" She left a 20 dollar bill along with a 5 covering the whole meal along with a 6 dollar tip. "We have 45 minutes to get to the airport!" she grabbed her purse and bolted up.

"Wait for me!" Kristin exclaimed as Julie started jogging away. "We have to be civilized about this." She pulled down the hem of her tight skirt, "we have to make a fashionable entrance." She sucked in her cheeks and did her best impression of a runway model.

"Enough of that!" Julie said laughing. "This is my Nick and YOUR AJ we hafta pick up!" she grabbed Kristin's arm and pulled her out of the restaurant.

----

Nick Carter rested his head on his hand and gazed out the window of the Backstreet Boys' personal plane. "I hate boredom!" he said resting his head on his other hand. "Damn, I wish they'd land this plane right now!"

Kevin Richardson chuckled, obviously amused with the foolish 20 year old. "If they were to land the plane right now we'd be swimming with the fishies." He turned the page of the Miami Observer newspaper and kept on reading not paying much attention to Nick's reaction.

"That's just great." Nick commented. "I can't freakin' keep sitting here! I want to see Julie!"

Kevin raised an eyebrow. "Julie?" He then returned his attention to the newspaper.

"Yes, Julie! Haven't I told you of her? She's from the group Gemini." Kevin immediately though of the blonde in the group. He'd never really paid much attention to Gemini. The only fact he knew was there was two girls in the group, a blonde and one that wasn't blonde. He knew Nick would be involved with the blonde. It was almost impossible for Nick to have a
non-blonde girlfriend. Cassidy, Miranda, Daniella, Destiny, Amanda, Mandy, Camilla, Kayla and Lisa were all examples of that. Kevin had thought about it for a while actually. He'd figured 98% of Nick's girlfriend's were blonde, the other 2% were blondes that had dyed their hair a different colour (ie. red) to seem more sophisticated.

Kevin had nothing against blondes, infact, he'd been dating a blonde named Kristen Willits for a long time. Ever since he worked at Disney World. The reason he had broken up with her after being together for so long was Kevin would want to take Kristen everywhere and buy her all the things in the world but, Kristen would always refuse. Kevin had  decided he'd had enough. His New Year's resolution was to move on, so he turned to reading the world news. Was there anything better to do?

"I can't wait to introduce you! She's so nice!" Nick exclaimed and sat up in his chair, excited.

Right, nice. Kevin had decided that all of Nick's girlfriends couldn't be nice, rather a bitch to society. They'd always used Nick and had been mean to everyone else. While Nick was around though, they'd act just peachy. To say the least, all of Nick's previous girlfriends had been hypocrites. He had no doubt that Julie, would be the same.

"Yeah, alright Nick." He said and then kept on reading his newspaper hoping that maybe Nick would get the point, quiet down and let him read in peace. Nick looked at the sleeping Brian and Howie, back at the depressed Kevin and grabbed a comic book from his carry on bag and read it again for what seemed the hundredth time.
