» CHAPTER THREE «

As AJ walked out with his arm around Summer's waist she smiled to herself. "This guy is a sweetie, and he's a member of the Backstreet Boys! This would never happen to me", she thought to herself.

AJ walked over to his large gray Ford Expedition that was just being driven out of the garage. He politely opened the door for her and then walked around to his side.

"So Summer, you hungry? I saw a McDonalds right down the street", he lifted an eyebrow at her hopefully.

"Sounds great", she answered. "AJ, you got a girlfriend? A nice looking guy like you most certainly has to", she flirted.

AJ brushed a hand through his hair that was dyed with red tips. "I just broke up with my girlfriend about a month ago before we went on tour...I mean before I moved", he quickly said and looked over at her, wondering if she had caught his mistake.

Summer pretended to not have noticed it and continued on, "That must have been really hard. How long were ya'll together?" Summer took her hairbrush out of her purse and let her hair down from the ponytail. "You don't mind do you?" she asked looking over at him.

"Course not. We had dated about a year, and then things got too hectic, so I called it off," AJ told

Summer, looking over at her once he was able to pull into the parking lot at McDonalds. Her hair was down and was bright in the sun that was shining in the windows. And her bare arms (she had on a white spaghetti strap tank) were tan. To AJ she was gorgeous.

"Do you go the beach a lot Summer?" AJ said in a low voice.

"Yeah, I own a house on the oceanfront. You should come down sometime", she said cheerfully.

Pleasant images filled AJ's mind of him and Summer on the beach. But he quickly shoved them down. "Quit it man! You barely know her!"

Summer looked over at the man beside her, beginning to like the person she was seeing. "Come on, I'm hungry," she said, taking his hand and sliding out her door with him following.
