» CHAPTER TWO «

Jenny is playing with Lil'Tyke, waiting for Brian to come pick him up. She hears the door knock. "Who is it?" she asks.

"It's me, open up!" a voice yells.

Jenny gets up, keeping an eye on the dog, she opens the door. It was her little sister, Kelly.

"Why don't you have your key?" she asks.

"I forgot it again. Besides, you're here. Why should I have my key?" Kelly asks walking in the house. Lil'Tyke sees her, and runs into Jenny's bedroom. Kelly doesn't see him, Jenny does, and laughs. Kelly looks at her with a confused look on her face. Jenny closes the door and walks down the hall.

"Because, if I'm not here when you get home, you should have it, so that you can get in. I told you a hundred times already," Jenny explains, yelling down the hall.

Kelly rolls her eyes and sits down on the couch. Jenny looks around her bedroom, and finds the dog under her bed. She grabs him and brings him back out in the living room. Kelly sees him and smiles, getting up.

"Cool, where did you get it? Is it a boy or a girl? How did you get it?" she asks petting the dog. Jenny laughs, and hands him to her.

She answers, "I caught him outside, he was running around the neighborhood. He belongs to someone you would not believe."

Kelly looks at her, waiting for her to answer. "Well, Who?"

"He belongs to Brian Littrell."

"No way, Jenny. You are such a liar. He doesn't belong to him."

Jenny nods, knowingly. "I knew you wouldn't believe me. Check the tags."

Kelly sits down on the couch with him and checks the tags. She gasps at the name. She looks at her in shock. Jenny nods. "I called him up, he's coming right now to pick him up."

Kelly drops her mouth and Lil'Tyke jumps off her lap. Jenny laughs at Kelly's face, and waves her hand to get her out of her daze. "I can't believe he's coming!"

Jenny laughs, and goes to the back of the house to the kitchen and starts making supper. She decides to make chili. Kelly goes to her room and puts her things away. She heads back to the living room and plays with Lil'Tyke. Jenny looks in the living room, and laughs at them playing.

"So Kelly, How was your last day of school?" Kelly stops playing with Lil'Tyke long enough to tell her about her day.

The guys are driving to Jenny's house. Kevin is sitting in the front with Brian.

"Brian, how do you know that she's not just a fan who knows about Lil'Tyke being missing?"

Brian looks at him, then looks back to the road. "I know she has him, because we didn't tell anyone about Lil'Tyke missing except the stagehands and everyone else working at the arena. No one else knows."

Kevin nods, and is quiet for the rest of the trip. Everyone in the group is wondering about Jenny, and how she is going to be. AJ is getting excited, because he is a giant flirt, and wants to see what Jenny is like. Howie is sitting there, quietly looking out the window, and Nick is listening to music on his C.D. player. They finally pull up to Jenny's house. AJ jumps out of the car and runs to the door. The others laugh and gets out themselves.

"Looks like AJ's excited again," Nick exclaims.

They all head for the door. Jenny has just finished cooking dinner, when she hears the car pull up. Knowing that it's Brian, she heads for the door. But Kelly hears the car too, and beats her to it. Lil'Tyke runs to Jenny's room again. Since Kelly is at the door, Jenny goes back to finish making dinner and starts to set the table. She hears the door knock. Kelly opens the door, and is shocked by what she sees.

"Hello, are you Jenny?" AJ asks.

She continues standing there in shock. Jenny walks up, moving Kelly carefully to the side. She smiles. "I'm Jenny. This is my little sister, Kelly. I thought Brian was picking up Tyke."

AJ smiles back. "Yes, he is. We all decided to come up and thank you personally for taking care of Tyke."

As he said that, the other guys walk up the porch steps and sees her. Jenny nods, and smiles. "I see. Well, come on in, and I'll get Lil' Tyke for you. He's probably hiding under my bed again."

She opens the screen door, and lets everyone in. After everyone is in the house, she goes to her bedroom to get Lil' Tyke. Kelly is still standing there in shock. AJ laughs and waves his hand in front of her face. Kelly wakes up, and blushes when she realizes what she did. "Sorry, I didn't mean to stare." she says.

AJ shakes his head. "That's okay, we're used to it."

Kelly nods, understanding. "Well, would you like to sit down?" she asks.

The guys nod. Brian, Kevin, and Nick sit on the couch, and Howie, and AJ sit down on the two recliners in the room. Kelly walks back to the kitchen to finish supper. While the girls were gone, the guys talk.

"They seem like nice girls. Don't they?" Kevin asks.

The guys nod. Howie is looking around the room and sees pictures of Jenny and Kelly along one wall of the room. There were no pictures of parents or any other relatives. Kelly walks back to the living room, then goes to Jenny's room. Jenny is on the floor, trying to get Tyke out from under the bed.

"Jenny?" she asks. "Is the dog coming out?"

At this, Jenny finally gets Lil'Tyke out. Jenny smiles. "Yeah, I got him. Let's go see your daddy now. Okay?" she whispers to the dog.

Jenny looks at Kelly, and gets an idea. "Kelly, I want you to close all of the doors, so that Lil'Tyke doesn't run away to a different room."

Kelly nods and starts to close the bedrooms and the bathroom. Jenny walks out to the living room with Tyke. "Here's your dog, Brian."

Jenny puts the dog down. Brian gets up, and bends down to call his dog. "Here Lil'Tyke, Here boy..." he calls.

Lil'Tyke looks around at everyone and sees Brian. He walks slowly towards him, acting like he knows that he's in trouble. Brian picks him up, laughing. Everyone else laughs too. Tyke licks Brian's face and starts to pant as if he's laughing too. That makes everyone laugh more. The guys and girls relaxes a little bit, and they start to talk. Jenny goes back to the kitchen. The guys follow this time, and smells the chili cooking. They start to get hungry. Jenny turns around, and smiles at the guys.

"Would you like to join us for dinner? There's plenty to go around."

The guys look around at each other. "Why not? We haven't had a home cooked meal in months," Nick whispers.

"I guess it would be all right," Kevin states. The others nod.

They turn back towards Jenny stirring the chili, and Kelly setting the table for her and Jenny. The guys look at Kevin. Kevin speaks up. "Would it be all right?" he asks.

Jenny smiles and nods. "Of course!"

The guys nod. "Okay, thank you."

Kelly sets a plate for everyone, and they all sit down for dinner. The guys loved the chili, especially Kevin, who hasn't had homemade chili since he went on tour with the group. After dinner, the guys get ready to go. Kevin and Howie are sitting on the couch waiting for the others to get ready. Howie is talking to Kevin about Jenny.

"I really think she's cute," Howie says.

"Well, ask her out. See if it'll turn into something. Who knows?" Kevin explains.

The other guys are ready to go, and they get up. Kevin pats Howie on the back for encouragement, and Howie walks to Jenny. Jenny is talking to Brian.

"Thank you so much for watching the dog, and for dinner. It was great," Brian says, holding Tyke. Jenny smiles.

"It's my pleasure. This little rascal is a real sweetheart."

"I only wish we could give you something for a reward," Howie says walking to them.

Jenny shakes her head. "No, that's all right. Just meeting you guys is reward enough."

Howie gets an idea. "Wait, just a minute here. Brian, come here for a minute." Jenny goes into the kitchen to clean up. Kelly follows. "Do you think we could take the girls to the concert tonight? That would be a great reward. And we can do something special afterwards. What do you think?" The guys look around at each other, and they all agree.

"Howie, that's great! Let's ask them," Nick says.

The guys turn and walk in the kitchen towards Jenny and Kelly. They were cleaning the kitchen and storing the leftover chili.

"Jenny, Kelly, how would you like to come with us to the concert? We love to have you there, and we'll give you backstage passes," Kevin asks.

"Think of it as a reward and a thank you for dinner type thing," Brian adds.

"And we can do something afterwards. How about it?" Howie finishes.

The girls smile. "That would be nice. Thank you," Jenny answers.

The girls get ready, and they all head out back to the arena. The guys get back just in time for everyone to get dressed and to do the group prayer. Denise gets to them, and the guys explain about the girls. They all get tickets and passes for the girls and the guys go get ready.

"Thanks guys. We'll see you after the show!" Jenny shouts to them. They all wave back.

"Maybe sooner..." Howie whispers as he leaves to get ready.

The girls get to their seats and talk about the show. A few minutes later, the guys start.

As the show is going on, the guys sing songs from the new album, as well as the old album. They decide to change the program a little bit and instead of Nick's solo, they decide to do Howie's old solo. When it's his turn on stage, he starts to get nervous.

"Howie, you'll do fine. You've done this before," Kevin states.

He pats Howie on the back and gets ready for the next sequence. Howie gets ready for his solo part. He gets a white rose, and walks out on stage. The fans scream when they see him, and he smiles.

"Hello, everyone. Us Backstreet Boys decided to change the program a little. Is that all right?" The fans scream in approval.

Howie goes to the end of the stage, and pulls out a chair. He sets it down in the middle of the stage. He walks toward the front of the stage and looks around the audience.

"Now, this song is special, and a special song needs a special someone to sing it to. Is there anyone out there I can sing to?"

He looks around the audience and see Jenny sitting in the front row. He smiles and points to her, asking "Can I sing to you?"

Jenny gasps in shock and gets up. She walks to the front of the stage, and walks up. Howie walks her to the chair.

He asks her, "What's your name, sweetie?"

Jenny knowing that he's asking for everyone else, says her name. "Jennifer" speaking in the microphone. Howie nods, and winks at her.

"Jennifer, my name is Howie D. And I just want you to know, that my Heart Will Stay With You." He starts singing.

"Girl, I miss you.
And it's so amazing when they,

He continues the song, and gives her the white rose. After the song, he kisses her on the cheeks and leads off the stage. She goes back to her seat in total shock. Howie goes backstage and the guys congratulates him. They head back out, and continues the show.

After the show, the girls went backstage to congratulate the guys. They stop in front of the door, and hears what the guys are saying through the door.

"Howie, you did real good. I'm sure that Jenny would like you, if you only ask her," Kevin states.

Howie is walking around thinking about how to go about asking Jenny out. The guys are getting ready to leave the arena, when the girls knock on the door. AJ answers it.

"Hey girls, How's it going?"

"Hey AJ. Nice job out there, tonight," Kelly exclaims.

Jenny walks in quietly, following Kelly. She smiles at the guys. "Hey guys." She looks at Howie and smiles. "Thank you, Howie."

Howie smiles, "You're welcome, Jenny. It was my pleasure."

The guys and Kelly smile and tries not to laugh at them. Kelly speaks up. "Are we ready to go? Jenny and I need to get home." She looks around for a clock, to find out what time it is. Suddenly a voice speaks up behind her.

"You won't be going home tonight, girls. It's way too late now, and the guys look like they are really tired. Why don't you stay with us, at the hotel? We'll get you your own room." It was Denise, AJ's mom. The girls look at each other, and talk in private.

"She's right, you know. We can't go home now, it's too late," Kelly says.

"As long as we get our own room, it should be fine," Jenny agrees.

They turn around and Jenny nods her head. "Okay, we'll stay with you guys. It's all we can do, anyways," Jenny states.

The guys smile, and everyone heads out towards the hotel. There were a few fans outside, waiting for the guys, so Howie grabs Jenny's hand and Kevin takes Kelly's and they run to the bus. They made it safely with no major problems and they head to the hotel.
