Chapter Three
"You need a man!" AJ grinned, barging into my room.
I sat up on my bed and looked at her suspiciously. "How did you get in my house?"
Alex walked in after her. "Do you really wanna know?" He said, putting his sunglasses on.
AJ sat down on my bed, with her year book from the year before. "Alright, so we've got Brian.. taken." She started, crossing out Brian's name on a list of guys she had.
"AJ," I whined, falling back and shoving my head under my pillow.
Alex walked over to the window and looked out, "Hey, did you know there's people moving in next door?"
"It's probably just an old couple.. who would wanna move to this boring town." I said, muffled by the pillow.
AJ got up and looked out the window, too. "Girl.. girl.. girl.. boy too young.." She counted. "Hey now.. he looks like he's old enough for yah."
"Go away," I said hesitantly. I listened, waiting to hear my bedroom door close. AJ grabbed my arm and pulled me out of my room and down the stairs to the front yard with Alex not far behind. Before she pulled me out the front door, I grabbed my hat and pulled it down over my eyes.
"Hi!" She waved to the new people, pulling me towards them.
"I'm gonna hurt you.." I mumbled.
"No you won't." She laughed. "What's your names?" she asked. I heard 'B.J., Angel, Aaron, and Leslie.' I only heard four names even though I saw five pairs of shoes. I had just happened to be looking in that direction.
"I'm Nick," I heard, then giggles come from 'Ms. Fix-up-my-best-friend,' who was standing next to me.
AJ turned. "This is-" She put her hands on her hips and then pulled the hat off my head. I pulled my bangs in front of my face and looked down, crossing my arms. "This is my friend Sarah," she smiled at Nick, trying to get me to look up.
"Bite me," I growled, quietly at her.
"Pay me!" She whispered, angrily. "This is my boyfriend, Alex." AJ smiled, hooking arms with Alex and pulling him over to the group.
"Sup," Alex said, adjusting his sunglasses. I heard one of them laugh quietly.
"Girls, Aaron.. come help unpack and let your brother talk to his friends." I heard their mom call.
"So, what grade are you in?" AJ asked.
      "Tenth," Nick replied.
"Cool! Us too!" AJ smiled, elbowing me
"Dude, hit me one more time, see what happens!" I said, looking up. I glanced at Nick when he laughed, grabbed my hat back and pulled it back over my eyes
"Forgive my friend," AJ said through her teeth. "She's single."
"It's hot out here, can we go inside?" Alex whined, looking at AJ.
"Fine, Mr. Black-shirt-genius. C'mon Nick," She said, pulling me and pushing Alex to the house with Nick following.
