BATS

Chapter Eight: The Search for Sillabub and Alonzo

Sillabub screamed again once they were inside.  The warehouse was more of a maze than a storage yard for the Jellicles, which made it almost impossible to detect where her screams came from.

Several windows had been broken, so a little of the stench was gone, but it still reeked inside.

"This is disgusting," Bomba hissed.  "I'm going to have to clean my fur for weeks to get the shine back into it!"

"Oh goody," Munk muttered.

"Let's go," Exi urged.  "We can't let the bats eat her, can we?"

"No," Bomba replied.

"Should we split up, or something?  That way we could look in more places," Dem suggested.

"No, we're safer together," Munk said.

"I know how we can find the bats," Exi blurted out.

"How?" demanded the other three cats.

"Follow the stench," was the reply.

"Good idea," Bomba commented.  "It does make sense, now that I think about it."

"Of course it makes sense!" Exi exclaimed.  "I do have some logic."

"Can we just get this over with?" Dem asked.

"Sure.  Let's go," Munk replied, leading the way further into the warehouse.
