Chapter Nine: In the Depths of the Warehouse...
"The stench of guano is definately getting worse," Bomba remarked, stating the obvious quite well.
"Isn't it obvious?" Dem asked. None of the cats felt like arguing with Bom, except for her sister.
"Well yeah, that's why I said it," Bomba explained.
"I should've known," Exi muttered, whacking herself over the head with her paw.
"Don't do that," Dem hissed. "It could give you brain damage."
"Yeah right," Exi laughed.
"I've never heard of that," Bomba said, mimicking Exi and whacking herself over the head.
"Can you all shut up? You might wake up the bats," Munk hissed.
When no one was speaking it was terribly quiet. Sillabub wasn't screaming any more.
"Do you think something happened to her?" Dem whispered after a moment, knowing that that was what they were all wondering.
"I don't know," Bomba replied. It was obvious that no one else knew either.
They turned a corner in a long hall, and came to a central chamber of the warehouse. The ceiling was lined with bats, and Silla and Lonzo were no where to be seen.
"Where'd they go?" Exi asked, her voice little more than a whisper.
"To my lair."
