19980303: HyperStudio Stack Saving Problems

March/1998
Tech Note #3

People were having difficulty saving to floppy and this is what Roger Wagner responded.

"I would not recommend saving stacks to floppy disks. Floppy disks are highly unreliable when it comes to saving stack files. Floppies are not designed to handle the more complex save routines that HyperStudio uses. We have tested out floppy disks here and have had very disturbing results. We highly recommend doing all work onto a local hard disk. The second recommendation we have is to save to a network drive. Make sure the students have FULL access to their folders on the network drive."

MaryLouise also advises there is an upgrade to HyperStudio for Windows 95 that fixes a variety of little problems. You can contact her for further information.
