19981008: Clipart Problems in Works 4.x

October/1998
Tech Note #8

Also from Wilma: Users of Microsoft Works 4 may encounter a problem with clipart. If you insert clipart from Clip Gallery 3.0 and then resize it, the new size will disappear and the image will revert to its original size as soon as you save the file.

Microsoft has posted a fix for the problem. The file name is clip3.exe. Double-click clip3.exe to extract an updated version of the file wksole32.dll, then copy this dll to the directory containing the MSWORKS.EXE file. To be extra safe, you may want to back up the wskole32.dll file which exists in that directory before you overwrite it. For more info, see Microsoft Technical Article Q157223.
