19990610: Taking Advantage of the Time Service
June/1999
|
All NT servers configured with the NT Server Prep Update diskette have the time service installed and configured automatically. This means that all these servers will regularly correct their system time (and date) from an Internet time source. Any workstation which logs on to an NT domain, with a logon script containing aNET TIME \\SCH021 /set /yesstatement (where SCH021 is replaced by the correct name of an NT server) will have the system date and time properly synchronized with an NT server which itself is synchronized to an Internet time source. Regardless of potential BIOS issues with Y2K, such a workstation will have its date and time set correctly for each session. |
