Richard S and Ron H (Sargent Park) have some information to share regarding installing and configuring MathTools. a. If the program does not run after installation, the file PHMT.CCC may not have been installed. This file must be in the path, and is normally installed in the C:\WINDOWS directory. If the program doesn't work after installation, simply copy this file from the installation diskette to the Windows directory. b. If Windows is not running at least 256 colours, MathTools will not start. c. There is a compressed file on disk one of the MathTools diskettes which contains a series of lessons and the accompanying files for Grades 6, 7 and 8. It is a regular zipped file (math_lab.zip), and you need only unzip it to a desired location on the hard drive to access the lessons. The zip archive contains directory structure, so use Aladdin Expander, pkunzip with the -d option, or any other decompression utility which can restore the directory information. |
