20000201: Logon Problems and/or Connection Problems Since Apps Server Install

February/2000
Tech Note #1

In some schools, the installation of the new apps server has brought with it some connection problems with respect to the old PDC. If you are having problems connecting to your old NT 3.51 server, please check the network card first. We have noted problems with the 3Com 3C590 and 3C900 PCI network cards. If you have one of these cards installed in your NT 3.51 server, please exchange it with a D-Link DE530CT from a workstation or bring it in to A/V Computer Repair and we will exchange it for a D-Link DE528CT. We have had numerous instances where this has solved mysterious network connection problems.
