20000207: Internal Errors Running Anti-Virus or LockIt95 Install

February/2000
Tech Note #7

The latest LockIt95 and Anti-Virus installers use a self-extracting executable created by Paquet Builder. This program has proved to be quite robust and dependable. Occasionally, however, the setup program may give an "internal error" message. In some cases the setup will proceed normally thereafter, and in some cases it will abort. Internal errors generally occur when the installer can't create a file or directory, due to insufficient disk space or pre-existence of read-only files.

If you encounter such an error, first try rebooting and launching the install again. If the error persists, remove all files and folders from the <windows> directory named TECHWSD1.* and make sure there is plenty of free hard drive space.
