One of the eight finalists in the World Martial Arts Tournament, Bacterian is an enormous and powerful fighter. But Bacterian’s most powerful weapon has nothing to do with his incredible strength - it’s his odor! Bacterian has never taken a bath in his whole life! As such, he is perhaps the smelliest person alive. Bacterian uses this to his advantage. He waits for his opponent to grab their nose, then he attacks!

This enormous dinosaur-like creature is able to fly using his powerful wings. He also spits out a strange gooey substance he calls his “Merry-go-round Gum”, which he uses to trap his opponents. Once an adversary is bound by this rubbery substance, he is unable to break free. When he’s not fighting, Giran has a voracious appetite, and enjoys washing down his considerable meals with a few cold glasses of milk.

Goku:
Taught martial arts by his late adoptive grandfather, Gohan, who raised him out in the wilderness. Goku is extremely strong, agile, and virtually fearless. He’ll take on any fight no matter what the odds are if he thinks that someone has been wronged. And he’ll usually win. That’s because Goku is not just you typical eight-year-old. He sports a tail, is able to fly short distances and carries a magic fighting stick that stretches to incredible lengths.

He entered the tournament to teach Goku and Krillin that this tournament is not just for winning and that there is much more they need to learn. Yamcha is the first to mention that Jackie Chun is Master Roshi, because of his actions towards women and to Krillin's attack. Namu wanting to repay Master Roshi for his kindness of the water capsule, dresses up as Master Roshi and cheers Goku on in the crowd. Everyone is then convinced Jackie Chun is not Master Roshi. Thus, he is determined to win the prize of 500,000 zeni so that he can ease his people’s suffering. Nam is a brave and honorable warrior, and although he is well versed in the fighting arts, it is against his personal code to cause harm to any living thing without just cause. But should that cause arise, Nam possesses an arsenal of devastating fighting moves, the most fearsome of which is his Aerial Attack.

Android 21:
The most dangerous of all Dr. Gero's creations, Android 21 also know as Cell, was created in Dr. Gero's lab as a genetic experiment. He comes complete with a self-destruct feature, a scorpion-like tail that opens up to absorb the energy of his opponents, and instructions to wreak revenge on the Androids which caused Dr. Gero's downfall. Cell contains the DNA of the mightiest warriors of the universe including Goku, Piccolo and Vegeta. Possessing the DNA of these great warriors, Cell is able to fight with their attacks. With these great forces combined Cell is an almost invincible being. One of his greatest advantages is being able to regenerate himself at any given time from even the smallest component of himself. We discover this in Dragon Ball Z when the good guys believe Cell is destroyed, only to find out that a brain cell has survived. From this cell, Cell regenerates himself and appears out of nowhere once again threatening Earth. One of Cell's only weak points is that his energy is finite. He gains power by draining the energy of his enemies using his scorpion-like tail to do so. Cell has three forms: the imperfect form in which we first see him, the second stage of Cell and the final or Perfect Cell. He reaches Cell Stage Two after absorbing Android 17. When Android 18 is consumed, Cell changes into his third and most powerful form: Perfect Cell. Cell can and does create smaller versions of himself.

They soon broke up and Angela found a new guy to seduce.

Annnouncer:
This is the man who hosts every World Martial Arts Tournament. This is actually the only time you see him and all he does is give a play by play on what's going on in the fight. Even though most of the characters find him annoying and don't care for his comments, he's still good at what he does.

Argua:
From the East Quadrant of the Other World. He is unfortunate enough to get paired up with Goku in the 3rd match of the quarterfinals during the Other World Tournament. His strength comes in the water which is why he turned the tournament ring into a block of water. He fought a good fight but Goku triumphed in the end after a Kamehameha Wave knocked Argua and all the water out of the ring.

Baba:
Baba is the comical sister of Master Roshi. Short and squat, she uses her crystal ball to see into the future or to see what is happening in the present in other locations. Bubbles:
Bubbles is one fast Monkey. Bubbles is North Kai's pet, who appears when Goku first comes for training.   Bulma:
In Dragon Ball, Bulma was a mixed up teenager with blue hair and a personality quirk that wouldn't allow her to shut up for a second. Now, she's blossomed into a mixed up woman with that same personality quirk. But, Bulma is very important to the team. She is a mechanical genius who can operate and fix anything. She is the one that discovers the capabilities of the Saiyan Scouter and enhances it for their own use. She also takes the lead in finding a spaceship capable of flying to Namek. Bulma designed the Dragon Radar, which tracks the locations of the Dragon Balls. Bulma is also fashion conscious and changes clothing and hairstyles during the series. She often wears clothing with either her name or "Capsule Corporation" on the item. Bulma has known Goku since he was a young boy. In the original Dragon Ball, Bulma had a crush on Yamcha. Although their romance blossoms, it was not permanent. In Dragon Ball Z she outgrows these impulses and settles her affections on Vegeta . They have a son, appropriately named Trunks. He switches bodies with Goku giving Captain Ginyu the advantage of fighting with Goku's powerful body and also of confusing the team of good guys. This capability does lead to his ultimate demise as he accidentally and forever changes bodies with a frog.

Caterpy:
From the South quadrant of the Other World. He never had a chance in the Other World Tournament since his first opponent was Goku. Caterpy actually only lost because during the fight he decided to morph into his ultimate form, which takes 1200 years, so the Grand Kai declared Goku the winner because he didn’t want to wait.

Cell:
The most dangerous of all Dr. Gero's creations, Cell, was created in Dr.

  Cell Jr:
The Cell Jrs are extremely strong, even being able to dispatch of the Z Fighters with ease. Super Saiyan Vegeta and Super Saiyan Trunks even had a hard time and barely could fight them. Having most of Cell's abilities, they show to be quite reckless and not to bright. After Gohan goes Super Saiyan 2, he puts an end to each Cell Jr.

Chapuchai:
From the East quadrant of the Other World. Although known for his speed Chapuchai lost in the first round of the Other World Tournament. The victor in his match was the legendary Earthling Olibu.

Chi-Chi:
As the headstrong wife of Goku, some say Chi-Chi is the most powerful woman on Earth (because she can control Goku). They met in Dragon Ball when Chi-Chi saves Goku. Her father, Ox-King, trained her to be a formidable fighter in her own right. In Dragon Ball Z, Chi-Chi is mainly seen as a loving wife and doting mother, concerned and protective, perhaps even over-protective, of her family. She is always encouraging Gohan with his studies and often finds herself stubbornly at odds with Gohan's involvement with the martial arts. Chi-Chi would rather him be studying.

Chiaotzu:
A master of telepathy, Chiaotzu has the power to stop people in their tracks and to communicate telepathically. This white-skinned, red-checked little being is the devoted companion of Tien. A strong fighter in the early days, Chiaotzu does not hesitate to throw himself onto Nappa's back and self-destruct in an attempt to save his friends. However, his power level does not increase as dramatically as the other Z fighters. Thus, Chiaotzu is not a major warrior in the later episodes of Dragon Ball Z.

Dabura:
Ruler of the underworld, Dabura has existed for thousands of years and has done countless acts of evil. Dabura was possessed by the dark mage Babidi to do his bidding. Dabura can change his enemies into stone by spitting on them, and will not hesitate to obey his master's commands. That is, until Majin Buu is unleashed and Dabura believes he is too dangerous. Dabura then defies Babidi and tries to eliminate Majin Buu. Dabura changes Piccolo and Krillin into stone. Dabura ends up being eliminated by Majin Buu.

Dende:
The lone survivor from his village on the Planet Namek, Dende was rescued by Krillin and Gohan. Unlike Piccolo and other Namekian warriors, Dende does not possess strong fighting abilities. But he does have another crucial capability: the power to heal. Dende is thus important to the good guys during the battle with Frieza. Trustworthy and caring, Dende is loyal to Guru and his fellow Namekians. Later in Dragon Ball Z, Dende replaces Kami as the guardian of the Earth.

Dodoria:
Dodoria and Zarbon are Frieza's top two henchmen. Dodoria is a fat, pink spiky-headed alien. On Namek, he runs into Vegeta while chasing Gohan, and is killed by him.

Dr. Brief:
Intelligent, friendly and easy-going, Dr. Brief is Bulma's father and president of Capsule Corporation. Capsule Corp. makes the capsules Bulma often uses that turn into large objects like cars. His technical genius reveals why Bulma is so handy with machines. Dr. Brief repairs the spaceships so that Goku and the others can go to Namek. Mrs. Brief is the wife of Dr. Brief and mother of Bulma. Friendly and talkative, Mrs. Brief is seen mostly at home. She loves to have company and entertain guests.

Dr. Gero:
Evil science genius Dr. Gero creates his most destructive inventions ever. Androids #16, #17, #18, #19, #20 are out to destroy our heroes on the Earth. Putting Earth at peril, these androids have amazing strength and enjoy devastation for its sake. Android 20 is actually Dr. Gero's himself. To make himself more powerful, he instructs Android 19 to turn Dr. Gero into an android. Android 20 is the most vicious and determined android of all. He won't give up. Androids 19 and 20 are the first androids to come to Earth in the Cell Saga. They are defeated by Vegeta in an amazing show of strength. But it's not the end of Android 20 and the great threat to our heroes. Android 20 has been programmed to repair himself, and more androids are about to show up.

East Kai:
East Kai is the only female among the four ruling Kai’s. She controls the East Quadrant of the universe, which is known for its speedy fighters.

Elder Kai:
He was a ruling Kai, most likely the Supreme Kai, fifteen generations before the current Supreme Kai. After his death, Elder Kai was trapped in the Legendary Z Sword. When Gohan snaps the sword in two while training, Elder Kai appears. He agrees to use his powers to bring out Gohan’s latent or hidden capabilities.

Erasa:
Erasa also meets Gohan at Orange High School. She is friends with Sharpner and always seems to be with him. Erasa is pretty good friends with Videl and Gohan.

Evil Buu:
Just when Hercule relaxes because Majin Buu has agreed not to hurt Earth anymore, Majin Buu gets angry. Majin Buu gets so angry that another Buu, Evil Buu, comes out of his back. Tall and gray with boxing gloves, Evil Buu is the manifestation of all of Buu’s anger. Evil Buu and Majin Buu fight. Evil Buu ends up absorbing Majin Buu into his being. This causes Evil Buu to undergo a great transformation, changing him into the mighty Super Buu.

Frieza:
Haughty, malicious, seemingly invincible and power-hungry with absolutely no compassion, Frieza is feared as the most powerful and evil being in the Universe with no rival being even close to his strength. Upon learning about the legendary Namekian Dragon Balls, Frieza is consumed with a desire to obtain the Dragon Balls, summon the Dragon, and gain his wish for immortality. Then he can rule the entire universe, unrivaled, forever. Understanding the capability of the Saiyans as fighters, he eliminates their planet to destroy the competition. In his search for the Dragon Balls on Namek, he ruthlessly and predictably eliminates all who get in his way. The very mention of his name strikes dread and fear across the universe. Zarbon and Dodoria are Frieza's two evil right hand men. They carry out his requests promptly and without question, knowing Frieza's character too well. Frieza also employs the legendary Ginyu Force to take care of his business. Frieza is a lizard-like creature who can shape-shift into four stages of forms, with each form more powerful than the last. In his first form, Frieza is in a space pod. Second form, Frieza has two horns on his head and his body is larger. Third form: Frieza is in his biggest body and his back is bent. The fourth form is the perfect form. He is in a small body with no angle on his body. He has a fifth appearance. After being beaten by Goku, Frieza is rebuilt with robotic parts, and once again poses a threat to our heroes.

Froug:
From the South quadrant of the Other World. He was destined to loose to Maraikoh in the Other World Tournament but not before putting a good fight. He attempted to push Maraikoh from the ring by swelling up to the size of the arena but his efforts weren’t enough.

Garlic Jr:
Garlic Junior is a small guy who is both evil and intelligent. He resembles a blue dwarf with big pointed ears, but he is an evil being with keen mental powers and devilish plans to take over the universe. He can, and does, transform into a large monstrous tyrant. His biggest desire is to destroy the Namekian guardian of Earth, Kami, one of the wisest and purest beings ever. In this way, he can rule the Earth. Garlic's father had competed for the position of Earth guardian but he was stopped by Kami who discovered his evil intentions. Garlic Junior was granted immortality by the Eternal Dragon Shenron after collecting Earth’s seven Dragon Balls. But he is locked in the Dead Zone, a black void he created. Garlic Junior is from the Makyo Star, and his power level is proportionate to the Makyo Star's distance. Thus when the Makyo Star nears Garlic Junior, his power is increased and he bursts forth from the Dead Zone to once again put Earth in peril.

Gohan:
Named after his adoptive grandfather, Gohan is Goku and Chi-Chi's eldest son. He is idealistic, good and pure like his father. Gohan reveals his tremendous fighting potential when the earth is threatened. His heritage as part Saiyan and part human, make him stronger than if he were of one race alone. With Goku's departure to the next dimension and the eminent arrival of Saiyans stronger than Raditz, Gohan is key to the survival of Earth. Thus Piccolo, a former enemy of his father, joins forces with the good guys and trains Gohan for the upcoming battle. Over time, Gohan becomes friends with Piccolo, looks up to Piccolo and even wears similar clothing. Although initially a wimp, Gohan's training in the wilderness and subsequent fighting make him both brave and loyal. Following the fight on Earth, Gohan is determined to go with Bulma and Krillin to Namek to collect the seven Namekian Dragon Balls and help out his friends on Earth - especially since he feels he let them down during the fight on Earth. Gohan is key to the good guys success on Namek, risking his own life to save Dende, collecting Dragon Balls, traveling to see Guru who awakens a power sleeping within him, battling the Ginyu Force, etc. He will be the first to reach Super Saiyan II stage.

Goku:
Goku is the hero of Dragon Ball Z, the most powerful warrior on earth and the first to become Super Saiyan in over 1000 years. When the Saiyans arrive, Goku learns the mysterious secret of his own past: He is a Saiyan formerly named Kakarot. Goku was sent to Earth as a baby to grow up and destroy the planet, but a head injury as a child scrambled Goku’s programming. Instead of growing up to become a destructive super-warrior, he became innocent and pure of heart, fighting for good. Goku is peaceful, good natured, honest, loving to his family and friends, loyal, trustworthy, brave. If he has a weakness, it is his trusting nature. He always finds the "good" in people when others don't see it, though Goku’s enemies sometimes take advantage of his naive trust. He originally trained under Master Roshi and wears his symbol until he trains under King Kai. Then he wears King Kai's symbol. Goku grows up and marries Chi-Chi. Together they have two sons: Gohan and Goten. ATTACKS: KAMEHAMEHA - an energy attack launched with both hands from his side, taught by Master Roshi KAIO-KEN - boosts power level turning Goku red-hot, taught by King Kai SPIRIT BOMB - an enormous attack drawing energy from all living things, taught by King Kai.

Goten:
Goten is the second son of Goku and Chi-Chi, and is Gohan’s little brother. Goten loves to train in martial arts. He quickly develops incredibly strong powers (he just naturally goes Super Saiyan) that enable him to fight alongside the adults in their mission to defend earth. Goten’s best friend is Trunks who is approximately one year older. They are often seen together. Goten goofs around when he fights, especially when fused with Trunks as Gotenks, where he makes up countless silly-named attacks. Pure of heart, he’ll quickly jump into danger to help his friends and family.

Gotenks:
Goten and Trunks form this new entity by the Metamoru art of Fusion, which was taught to Goku and is passed on to Goten and Trunks while Goku is back from the Other World. The fusion must occur between two beings of equal power (Trunks has to lower his power level to fuse with Goten), and is accomplished by a goofy looking, mirror-image dance. This type of fusion only lasts 30 minutes, and they must recuperate for one hour before fusing again. Goten and Trunks are first trained in the art of Fusion by Goku and then by Piccolo. They try several times before getting it right, creating two awkwardly formed Gotenks in the beginning. Once perfected, the fused Gotenks is an incredibly powerful fighter. Like Goten and Trunks, Gotenks has an amazing ability to learn moves quickly, and quickly manages to go to Super Saiyan and even Super Saiyan 3 or third stage Super Saiyan after watching Goku do it once.

Grand Kai:
The Grand Kai rules over the four Kai’s. He is second only to Supreme Kai as the overseer of the entire universe. He is also the overseer of the Other World tournament. Grand Kai is reputed as the greatest fighter in the universe, but he’s been out of training for centuries.

Great Saiyaman:
During high school Gohan adopts a secret identity when fighting bad guys: the Great Saiyaman. He transforms into the Great Saiyaman with a simple push of a button on his Transformation Band watch. Initially Great Saiyaman wears a helmet. Gohan eliminates this from his wardrobe when entering the World Martial Arts Tournament. Any type of armor is not allowed.

Guldo:
Guldo is a short, pudgy, four-eyed creature, Guldo makes up for his lack of strength with his ability to manipulate space and time. He's one of the members of the powerful Ginyu Force. Able to read minds, control objects and stop time, he can easily conquer a much stronger foe.

Guru:
Wise, peace-loving, selfless and good, Guru is the eldest of all Namekians and father to all of his kind. (Namekians are unisex and hatched from eggs.) Guru is also the creator of the Namekian Dragon Balls. When he passes away, the power of the Dragon Balls to summon the Dragon Porunga and have wishes granted, also will pass away. Because Guru is very old and sick, this is a great concern on his planet. Using his powers, Guru brings out the secret power within Krillin and Gohan, and bestows on Dende a powerful healing ability. Guru is guarded by Nail, a strong Namekian warrior trained in all the ancient Namekian fighting techniques.

Hercule:
An expert at PR, Hercule has always been a champion at gaining credit for himself. He is not always the tough guy he appears to be, in fact he can be quite cowardly. He was the World Martial Art’s Champion of the previous tournament and manages to win the title again by doing a side deal with Number 18, the other finalist for the championship title. Despite his faults, he does the Earth a good turn. He befriends Majin Buu eventually convincing Majin Buu to stop hurting the people of Earth. Unfortunately, this pledge does not last when Majin Buu becomes angry because his puppy is hurt.

Jeice:
Jeice- With an orange face and huge white hair, Jeice is neither super fast or super powerful. He's one of the member of the powerful Ginyu Force. Instead he is a more balanced combination of strength and speed, making him very dangerous.

Jewel:
Jewel thinks he gods gift to women. He too fights in the Battle Royale during the World Tournament Three with the last four remaining contestants. He hits on Number 18 and tries to get her to throw the match, she answers with a hard blow that sends him soaring out of the ring and gets him disqualified.

Kami:
Kami, guardian of Earth is originally from the Planet Namek. He created the Dragon Balls on Earth. Desiring to be good and pure, Kami cast off his negative evil side which became Piccolo. Thus the two are mysteriously linked. If and when one passes away, the other will pass away also. And of course, if Kami the creator of Earth's Dragon Balls passes away, so will the power of Earth's Dragon Balls. He has some capability of seeing into the future, and can also sense the change when Piccolo starts becoming a better person. Kami brings Tien, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, and Krillin together for training in the famous Pendulum Room, the center of all past, present and future, and then sends them back to earth to prepare for the Saiyans. When Goku is killed fighting Raditz, Kami takes Goku to the Next Dimension for training with King Kai. Kami lives with his friend Mr. Popo on "Kami’s Lookout," a tower which floats high above the Earth. Later, Kami fuses with Piccolo to make Piccolo stronger.

Kibito:
He is the loyal body guard of Supreme Kai. A strong fighter, he’s lived a long time, though he’s not as old as Supreme Kai. He has the ability to transport himself and others to any other part of the universe. He also has the power to heal those who are injured or near death.

Kilah:
Kilah is a participant in the World Tournament Three and fights in the Battle Royale as well. He doesn’t last very long and with one punch Goten and Trunks disguised as Mighty Mask launch him from the ring.

King Cold:
King Cold is a massive monster with evil ambitions. He is Frieza's father, and is similar to Frieza in many ways. His brutal personality, desire to destroy the world and even his glacial physical appearance and uniform makes the family resemblance to Frieza obvious. It is King Cold that Earth has to thank for 'resurrecting' Frieza following the destruction of Namek when all believe Frieza to have been destroyed. With a new android-like shape, Frieza and his father are headed to Earth!

King Kai:
Living in the 'Next Dimension,' King Kai is known throughout the universe as one of the greatest fighters and martial arts teachers (although his teaching methods are rather unorthodox). His house is on a tiny planet at the end of Snake Way. The small planet has ten times the gravity of Earth, and is thus an ideal training site. His companions include a goofy monkey named Bubbles and a grasshopper named Gregory. King Kai possesses a humorous, corny sense of humor (he's always telling jokes or puns) as well as great wisdom. Fortunately for our friends, he can communicate telepathically, giving them good advice and warnings in critical situations. Goku trained under King Kai and now wears his symbol. Yamcha, Chiaotzu, Tien, and Piccolo also train under King Kai when they are sent to the 'Next Dimension.' When Goku seeks King Kai in the 'Next Dimension,' King Kai begins his training by having Goku catch Bubbles - no easy task with an energetic monkey and a gravity ten times the force of earth's. Goku catches Bubbles after only three months. His next task is to hit Gregory the grasshopper with a hammer. Goku, impressively, performs this task in three weeks. Only after these tasks increasing Goku's strength and speed, does Kai begin the personal training of Goku. In the 118 days left before the Saiyan's return, Kai teaches Goku the 'Kaio-ken' and how to gather energy from the planet into one great fighting energy ball. Later King Kai takes on the training of Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu, and Piccolo using the same techniques that were successful with Goku.

King Yemma:
Great King Yemma is the most powerful and the fastest ogre in the other world. He sits at the entrance desk of the 'Next Dimension' and admits people into 'The Upper World' or 'The Lower World.' He was also the first to make it all the way down Snake Way.

Korin:
Korin, a cat, is a wise martial arts master that lives in 'Korin's Tower'. Korin grows the magical healing Senzu Beans that often help the Z Fighters in battle. He hangs out with Yajirobe.

Krillin:
As a young boy, Krillin studied martial arts with Goku under Master Roshi. Originally he and Goku were fierce rivals, but now they are best friends. A short, bald warrior, Krillin provides comic relief in tense situations as he tries to keep up with Goku and some of the other more powerful warriors. A good fighter on his own accord, he's always there to help Goku. He can and has saved his friend's life more than once. In fact, Krillin unleashes an incredibly powerful energy blast shaped like a flying disk that can slice through mountaintops. Goku constantly encourages Krillin to have confidence in his own abilities as Krillin learns to be a remarkable fighter--that is, for an earthling. Loyal, courageous and dedicated to his friends, Krillin is willing to fight against the Saiyans even though he doesn't want to die and knows that he can't be brought back to life again by the Dragon Balls. Krillin and Gohan become very close friends through their adventures on Earth and Namek, and Krillin would do anything for Gohan.

Launch:
On one hand, Launch is a nice, sweet, friendly, innocent, unassuming young woman but then she sneezes, and becomes a tough, fiery, uncontrollable combative warrior. She tends to be around Tien and Chiaotzu.

Majin Buu:
Majin Buu was conjured into existence long ago by the evil wizard Bibidi. A powerful fighter who has destroyed many planets in his past, Majin Buu’s body is “rubbery” giving him great advantage in battles. He has now been unleashed by Bibidi’s son, Babidi, to destroy Earth. Like many of the bad guys in Dragon Ball Z, Majin Buu exists in multiple forms. The series starts off with child-like Majin Buu, in his more evil being called Evil Buu and in an even more powerful form called Super Buu. He is in his Evil Buu form very briefly before transforming to Super Buu. The Super Buu form is his final form and is often referred to as Kid Buu. Child-like, Majin Buu does not have a strongly developed sense of good and bad. He agrees to stop hurting people when he discovers it bothers Hercule. Unfortunately the threat to Earth is not over. For from Majin Buu, Evil Buu emerges.

Maraikoh:
From the West Quadrant of the Other World. He has to fight Froug at the beginning of the Other World Tournament and beats Froug by throwing him from the ring. His efforts were wasted after Goku decided to triumph over Maraikoh the same way he had taken Froug.

Master Roshi:
An ancient and wise master of martial arts, Roshi has accumulated great power and knowledge. He’s completely bald and has a long, white beard. Because he has lived for countless years on a deserted island with only a turtle for companionship, he is also called the 'Turtle Hermit.' His home, the Kame house, continues to serve as a gathering place for the good guys. Although he may appear strange, frail and harmless, Master Roshi is indeed a great warrior. He originally trained Goku and Krillin when they were young boys. The first earthling to ever understand how to nurture and control the Power of Light, Roshi trains Goku and Krillin in its use. It was Master Roshi who taught Goku the Kamehameha attack.

Mighty Mask:
He would have been a participant in the World Tournament Three if Trunks hadn’t knocked him out and taken his costume so that Goten and him could fight in the adult division. Trunks and Goten get found out about during the Battle Royale when Number 18 cuts their disguise in half with an energy blast and they get disqualified.

Mr. Popo:
Mr. Popo is the servant of Kami. He has been on Earth longer than the present Kami, and will remain to serve the next guardian of Earth. He helps Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan get to Namek by showing Bulma the location of Kami's old ship. Though small and silly in appearance, Mr. Popo is a powerful fighter, and wise, truthful and reliable. He assists Kami in saving the Earth from Garlic Jr.

Mustard:
Mustard is one of four evil warriors who are under the command of Garlic Jr. Mustard is a large, brawny, muscled warrior.
Nappa:
Fellow warrior and Saiyan with Vegeta, Nappa comes to earth with Vegeta to destroy it. This muscular Saiyan does much of the early fighting on earth including eliminating Piccolo, Yamcha, Tien and Chiaotzu either directly or indirectly throughthe Saibamen. Nappa may have more brawn than brain and gets overexcited and careless when fighting. Vegeta coaches him to calm down and states that he can win the fight. It is during his Kamehameha beam attack on Gohan and Krillin that Goku swoops in with his Kaio-ken attack to thwart Nappa. Nappa is inferior to and afraid of Vegeta - and for good reason. When Nappa loses the fight to Goku, Vegeta turns on him and immediately eliminates him for his weakness.

North Kai:
The Earth is in the North Quandrant of the universe, thus the being we know as King Kai is also known as North Kai.

Olibu:
From the North quadrant of the Other World. King Kai said that most of Earth’s heroic legends are based on Olibu and a few cartoons too. The well-known Olibu lost early during the Other World Tournament to Pikkon who made it all the way to fight Goku in the last match.

Oolong:
He’s a shape-shifting pig who joined forces with the good guys. He attended the same shape-shifting school as Puar, but cheated to pass. Oolong can only change shape for a short period of time and then has to rest. Not much of a fighter, he mostly hangs out at Master Roshi’s home.

Ox-King:
This giant of a man is Chi-Chi’s father. Once a great fighter, he trained under Master Roshi alongside Goku’s adoptive father, Gohan, but he rarely fights any more. Goku's onetime archenemy, Piccolo is the second strongest being on the Earth, born as a concentration of Kami’s negative spirits. He has powerful energy blasts, can split into two or four separate entities, and has the ability to regenerate limbs. He is often seen in a white cape. Originally from the far away planet Namek (although Piccolo doesn't know this for a long time), Piccolo starts off fighting Goku to rule the world. When the Saiyans arrive he joins forces with Goku. At first it is an uneasy alliance, but as the story unfolds, their bond becomes stronger. While training Goku's son Gohan for the upcoming battle against the Saiyans, Piccolo develops a special bond with Gohan. Through Gohan, the only person who has ever been a friend to him, Piccolo starts changing character for the better. He ends up sacrificing his own life to save Gohan. While battling with Frieza, Piccolo merges with Nail, the last of the Namekain warriors and former guardian of Guru. From this merging, Piccolo gains Nail’s ancient Namek fighting style, greatly enhancing Piccolo’s powers and abilities.

Pikkon:
Pikkon spends his life in the west quadrant of the galaxy as a great and honorable warrior, then becomes West Kai’s prizefighter when he passes into Other World. Like Goku, Pikkon wants to train under the Grand Kai and joins the Other World Tournament. He advances to the final round and faces Goku. Goku narrowly beats him, but both are disqualified for touching the ring’s ceiling, thus ending the battle in a draw. Like Piccolo, Pikkon wears weighted clothing to train himself between battles.

Pintar:
Pintar is a participant in the World Tournament Three. He goes up against Krillin in the first match of the World Tournament. But he doesn’t get any farther than that after Krillin knocked him out of the ring with a slap kick combo.

Porunga:
The Namekian Dragon Porunga can be summoned after gathering all seven of the Namekian Dragon Balls. He is more brutal looking than the Earth Dragon, Shenron. Also, he has the power to grant three wishes instead of one - as long as the wishes do not exceed the power of the one who created the Dragon Balls, and as long as this creator lives.

Princess Snake:
Princess Snake has been princess of Snake Way for the last 1500 years. And she is pretty, the winner of beauty awards. Since it has been over 500 years since they had guests, Princess Snake is intrigued by the arrival of Goku and tries to trick him into staying by placing Sleepy Grass into his food. When that doesn't work, she tries to force him into staying. Princess Snake has a dream mirror which she uses to discern Goku's dreams.

Puar:
Puar is the devoted companion of Yamcha. They met Goku and Bulma together in the first series, Dragon Ball. Puar is a shape-shifting blue cat who went to the same school as Oolong. Unlike Oolong, Puar can shift shapes without having to stop and rest every few minutes.

Pui Pui:
Pui Pui is one of the fighters under Babidi’s control. Pui Pui’s first chore is to eliminate Spopovich after Spopovich and Yamu hand over the stolen energy, as Babidi considers them no longer useful. Then, Pui Pui guards the first of the three levels of Babidi’s ship, facing off against Vegeta. Vegeta eliminates him with ease.

Raditz:
A strong, powerful Saiyan warrior, Raditz comes to Earth originally to look for Goku, his brother. Angry and intolerant, Raditz can't understand why it has taken so long for his little brother to destroy the helpless humans. Ruthless like all the Saiyans, Raditz plays on Goku's emotions lying to his confused brother to avoid being destroyed. The minute he is saved however, he instantly turns on Goku. His last words reveal that two even more powerful Saiyan will be coming to earth in one year in order to destroy it. And, unfortunately, his Scouter (technologically advanced eyepiece which gives location and power rating of opponents) transmits information about the Dragon Balls to the Saiyans.

Recoome:
Recoome is a big, redheaded brute, possessing great strength but slow in speed. He's one of the members of the powerful Ginyu Force. His special attack is the Recoome Boom Breath Blast.

Shenron:
Like the Namekian Dragon Porunga, Earth's Dragon Shenron can be summoned by gathering all seven of the Dragon Balls. Shenron can bestow any wish as long as it does not exceed the power of its creator and as long as the creator still lives. In Shenron's case, the creator is Kami. Unlike Porunga, however, Shenron can only grant one wish per summoning.

South Kai:
South Kai is the ruler over the South Quadrant of the universe. His quadrant has the reputation of being a peaceful area of space because all the fighters from this quadrant are comparatively weak.

Among them are the ability to fly and an apparent inability to die. The zombie-like Spopovich is sent to the tournament with his companion Yamu to drain energy from the other fighters for use in reviving Majin Buu. Spopovich defeats Videl in the tournament, drains power from Gohan and uses this energy to feed the Buu cocoon.

Super Buu:
Tall and pink, Super Buu is the form of Majin Buu resulting after Evil Buu absorbs Majin Buu. Like all the Buu’s, he is rubbery. Among Super Buu’s many new powers is the ability to sense energy levels. With this ability, Super Buu locates Kami’s Lookout and goes there to fight. Super Buu launches the most powerful attack in Dragon Ball Z causing widespread destruction. His powers are awesome causing significant problems for our allies. Super Buu undergoes his last form as a greater level of Super Buu, also known as Kid Buu.

Supreme Kai:
The Supreme Kai is the highest ruler remaining after Buu's elimination of the other Kais years ago. He becomes the Supreme Kai by default, ruling over Grand Kai and thus all life in the universe. He comes to Earth during the World Martial Arts Tournament to warn Goku about Babidi's plan to revive Buu and to prevent it from happening.

The Ginyu Force:
Evil and powerful, the Ginyu Force is hailed as the most powerful team in the universe. It is composed of five members, each one very powerful and possessing unique attacks and fighting advantages. When Dodoria and Zarbon are unable to eliminate our friends and collect the seven Namekian Dragon Balls, Frieza summons the Ginyu Force. Between battles, they enjoy such goofy past times as watching soap operas, playing "paper, rock, scissors" to decide who will fight who, and making bets over chocolate nut bars, their favorite food. The Ginyu Force strike various poses during their battle. While individually and collectively they are very strong, each member is conceited and competitive which leads to their downfall. They hesitate to ask each other for help because they don't want to share the credit for the victory. The members of the Ginyu force don’t seem to care about each other, willing to stand back and watch while their teammates are destroyed.

The Spice Boys:
The Spice Boys consist of four evil warriors who are under the command of Garlic Jr. They are strong, brave, evil, and totally devoted to Garlic Jr. They give the saga a bit of a comical edge with their names: Mustard, Spice, Salt and Vinegar. Tien is excited about being trained by Kami and willing to fight against the Saiyans despite the odds. He volunteers to be the first to fight against the Saibamen, wins the battle and goes on to fight against the Saiyans. Tien can communicate telepathically with Chiaotzu, his best friend.

Torbie:

He has come back in time to try to save the Earth of his time, only to find our heroes in Earth facing their own peril. Much to the amazement of our friends, Trunks immediately turns Super Saiyan and defeats Frieza and King Cold. He gives Goku medicine to prevent his death from heart disease and tells them of Earth's coming predicament. The Z fighters immediately go into training, and Trunks returns to his own time. Trunks returns to our timeline again in the Android Saga to ensure that the androids do arrive on Earth. He is a fierce rival of Goku's, striving always to seek power levels as high or higher than Goku and to reach Super Saiyan level. Ambitious and determined, Vegeta wants the Dragon Balls to gain immortality. He is determined to destroy Frieza. He is anxious and willing to be trained by Kami and to join the upcoming battle against the Saiyans even though he understands that the odds will be against them. In the heat of battle Yamcha volunteers to fight the Saibamen instead of Krillin because Krillin has already been brought back to life by the Dragon Balls. He and Bulma were formerly an item, and often illicit sparks fly for each other. Eventually Bulma moves on to Vegeta. Yamcha is defeated during battle with the Saibamen, and trains in the 'Next Dimension' under King Kai.

Yamu:
Yamu is paired up with Spopovich and sent to the World Tournament to gather energy by Babidi the evil wizard. The energy they are sent to gather is needed by Babidi to awake Majin Buu.
