SAIYAN STAGES
Saiyans have the ability to transform to different stages. In these stages, they get stronger and some times get special abilities. Below, are the stages the Saiyans have the ability to learn and transform into.
Saiya-Jin - This is the regular Saiyan form. The Saiyan has their natural features. A pure blood Saiyan's hair stays the same all the time. That is why Goku never needed a haircut when he was a kid. Well the Saiya-Jin isn't a real stage. It is just a regular Saiyan. The pure blood Saiyans that were seen in DBZ are Goku, Vegeta, Radditz, and Nappa. The half blood Saiyans are Gohan, Mirai Trunks, Chibi Trunks, Goten.
Super Saiya-Jin/SSJ - This stage can only be achieved as a need. As Goku said, you get to the level of a Super Saiyan as a need, not as a desire. In this stage, the Saiyan's hair turns yellow and there is glowing light around him sometimes. Goku first reached this stage in the Frieza Saga. Vegeta also reached this stage while training on another planet before he killed Android 19. Mirai Trunks reached this stage sometime in the future. Gohan reached this stage while training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Goten and Chibi Trunks reached this stage in Dragonball GT. Chibi Trunks and Goten also reached this stage during the Buu Saga
Ascended Saiyan/Ultra Super Saiya-Jin/USSJ - In this stage the Saiyan gets these huge muscles and become very powerful in the area of brute strength. The drawback is that since they have huge muscles, their speed lowers by so much. If the opponent has speed, then this stage is useless because the Saiyan wouldn't be able to touch the opponent. Vegeta and Trunks first reached this stage in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Goku also learned how to transfrom to this stage in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, but after Vegeta and Trunks did. Vegeta transformed to this stage to try to beat the second form of Cell. He was winning but then he let Cell absorb Android 18 and then Vegeta was too slow and weak for him. Then Trunks Transformed to this stage and he was stronger than Cell, but only in brute strength. Cell was quicker than him. He did hit Cell once, but I think he was playing around because after that he couldn't touch Cell because he was way too slow.
Super Saiya-Jin 2/SSJ2 - In this stage, the Saiyan gains both strength and speed. The Saiyan's hair stays up and there is barely any hair going down if any and their hair gets a little pointier. Also, lightning surrounds the Saiyan's body. Gohan was the first one to reach this stage. He reached it in the Cell Saga. I heard that Goku and Vegeta also reach this stage, but I don't know when.
Super Saiya-Jin 3/SSJ3 - In this stage, the main difference in appearance is that the Saiyan's hair is really long. The hair is almost as long as the height of the Saiyan. All that changes is strength is the same as SSJ2. The Saiyan gets stronger and quicker. Goku learned this stage before he fought Buu in the Buu Saga. Gotenks (the fusion of goten and chibi trunks) also learned this stage sometime in GT.
Super Saiya-Jin 4/SSJ4 - In this stage, the saiyan no longer has yellow hair or any light glowing around them. They have black hair and red fur around their body. They also grow their tail back so they can turn into Oozaru or Golden Oozaru. This is the strongest SSJ stage. The Saiyan is the quickest and most powerful in this stage. Goku reached this stage sometime in GT and so did Vegeta, but I heard Vegeta had to use one of Bulma's machines. Goku reached SSJ4 without using a machine.
Ultimate Super Saiya-Jin - I don't really know much about this stage. I heard Gohan reached this stage in one of the dbz movies. I also heard, he has these special healing moves or something like that. If anyone can tell me for information about this stage, please e-mail me by clicking here.
Oozaru - In this stage the Saiyan turns into a huge monkey. The color of their fur is brown. In order to transform to this stage, a Saiyan must have a tail (which if it gets cut off they can transform to SSJ4 to regrow it for that stage) and he has to look directly into the moon. Also, he can use a throw special ball of light into the air and look into it and turn Oozaru. In DBZ, Gohan first reached this stage while Piccolo and him were training to beat Vegeta and Nappa. Vegeta threw a special ball of light into the air looked at it and also turned Oozaru. this happened in the Saiyan Saga. In DBGT, Goku abd Vegeta have the ability to turn Oozaru because they know how to transform to SSJ4 so they get their tail back. In the movie the "Tree of Might" Gohan also turned Oozaru from looking into the moon.
Golden Oozaru - This stage is very similar to Oozaru. The main difference in appearance is that the Saiyan now has golden fur instead of brown. Also, I think the Saiyan is a little stronger in this stage than in the Oozaru stage. I think Vegeta reached this stage in GT. |
