Step 12a: Fixing the Textures

Now is the time for texture fixing. This is not very common a problem, but it seems that sometimes the textures just wont texture right!

On this Skyline, my 5% tinted headlight covers texture are totally opaque, so I open them in Photoshop, and guess what? No tint! So I re-tint it, and I find out that Photoshop has a bug in the TGA exporting, and won't let me get the Alpha channel out with the texture! So I open another program, Ability Photopaint, to see if I can't get tint that way. Nope, no alpha channel in Ability Photopaint. I retry with Photoshop, using Save As... instead, and... nope. So I take another texture, alphatex, and replace it with tint05w by typing

mktex alphatex.tga tint05w.tex /a

And I pack the car.

hmmm... better try /t instead...

well... that didn't work... appears Photochop corrupted a lot of things! So I took an alphatex.tex from another car, and renamed it to tint05w.tex.

Well, that worked. I can update the car later when I get this problem sorted out.

So, if you have Adobe Photoshop 7.0, beware! The TGA exporter might make you export sans alpha channel.

Once you are done painting yourself nuts, you can move ONWARD.
