Have you ever been going down the interstate in morning rush,
quite pleased with yourself because you managed to be on the
road just when most of the on-time-to-work people are 5 minutes
ahead of you but about 7 minutes ahead of the oh-shit-I'm-running-late
people who drive at breakneck speeds and realizing that you forgot
to pay rent and today is the last day but no big deal, since
you can come home at lunch and drop it in the night box and you're
happy that you spent that $70 on a front end alignment because
you were tired of straightening the wheel to turn left when you
notice that about 85% of the traffic ahead of you is in the far
left lane when you're all alone in the center and looking in
the mirror 90% of the drivers behind you are also in the left
lane and you wonder what they know that you don't?
That was my day yesterday.

And today I'm sore from yesterday's visit to the gym. Most
of the soreness is in my arms where they attach to my body. And
on the inside of my right knee but that one is from running into
a machine not from working out.

Two things have happened in Hollywood that have blown my mind.
The first is the birth of twins to Beverly D'Angelo, the National
Lampoon Vacation wife and mother. She's 49. That isn't what I'm
having trouble wrapping my brain around, it is the fact that
the father is Al Pachino. Not....computing....head hurts....must
lie...down. I'm sure they are happy together, at least they were
9 months ago, it just seems odd, that's all.
And the second of course is the breakup of Tom Cruise and
Nicole Kidman. If ever there was a hollywood marriage that I
thought would last forever it was them, followed by Kim Basigner
and Alec Balwin, but they broke up a few weeks ago so that's
shot out of the water.

I'm a friend of the zoo.
I got a Zoopass. $30 and I and a guest get in free until Feb
28, 2002 as well as a 15% discount to the gift shop. The gift
shop is very reasonably priced as far as zoo gift shops go. Also
invitations to lectures and exhibit openings before anyone else.
Stand back, ya'll, I feel special.
At $6 per adult the card is paid for after 5 visits. Me and
Ray have made that many visits in the last few months.
