At the far right of (167b), Mehmed Zeynelabidin Efendi, Chief of the Descendants of the Prophet, leads the way on horseback dressed in a huge green turban and followed by a number of seyyids also wearing green turbans. The three white-turbaned horsemen are officers of the Privy Stables and they are accompanying four of the eight spares brought for the procession. The remaining four appear in (168a) in a different composition that includes a guard of solaks and peyks. The horses in this scene have what must be leopard or tiger skins draped over the saddle-cloths at their rumps.
