In the right frame (171b) of this, the penultimate scene of the great parade, four horsemen (probably the officers of the Mehter, the famous Ottoman military band) lead the way. The two in front are dressed in patterned silk kaftans–an indication of their higher rank. They are followed by a line of eight zurna-players and another line of five musicians playing small double kettledrums. At the far right of the second frame (172a) eight musicians are beating the huge base drums called davul. They are followed by a line of six cymbal-players with a line of six trumpet-players bringing up the rear. All of these musicians are mounted on horses. At the top of the scene, three more musicians are having at three pairs of large double kettledrums mounted on the backs of three very jaded-looking camels.
