Duchess blue on velvet black
echoes of her pain
Silence fills her deep within
only tears remain ~
Naked vulnerability
a soul that bares her heart
Nothing feels the same again
it's tearing her apart.

Battered from the searing hurt
feeling his embrace
Tears fall down her lonely cheeks
the memory of his face ~
To feel his hand upon her
she shivers at his touch
She tries to shut out all the pain
for it just hurts too much.

No words escape her silent lips
she tastes his salty kiss
His breath upon the heartache
of her naked brokenness ~
Shattered in her silence
as she tries to break away
From the arms that hold her down
on the blanket where she lay.

Through her tears she feels his touch
upon her naked skin
He says that she should just relax
there's no point in fighing him ~
But he could never understand
the torment of such pain
As she sinks into her dark abyss
till she feels safe again.

Silent heartache of her soul
tears fall from her eyes
For she could never trust again
a part of her has died ~
He took from her what cannot
ever be replaced
While every night she still sees
the memory of his face.

Broken pieces of her life
fall upon the floor
Where he took her self-respect
shattering once more ~
Silent heartache, tortured soul,
lost in private pain
Love can never live with her
where only hurt remains.

"A sad poem, reflecting the pain of rape and sexual abuse.   Naked and baring all shame, she is left feeling vulnerable and alone.   The torment that goes on forever inside the heart and mind of the soul.   Nothing will ever seem the same again, as she battles her inner demons in learning to live again ~ learning to love again.   Ending on a sad note, the poem doesn't offer a hope that the woman's plight will end....because the depth of pain felt by all who suffer such a tragedy, feels as if there is no end, no hope, no love....nothing.   It feels as if it ended the day "he" took all self-respect, all innocence and all trust.   And so becomes the silent heartaches of all who bear this shame.   It's a dark world.   A private pain.   A hurt that no one can understand unless having lived through it yourself.   Until then, the silent heartache continues."
