On this page, you will read poetry written by survivors, such as myself or friends, about about all kinds of abuse ~ domestic, sexual and child abuse.   They express the loneliness and pain endured, and the shattered spirit. To read them will give one an inside understanding into that loneliness, hurt and pain.

You will see various ribbons for campaigns against violence and abuse on some poems.   There is a green ribbon for child abuse as well as blue/pink ribbon against violence on children.   There is also a white ribbon for rape survivors and the purple/black ribbon for domestic abuse.

Warning: the content of my poetry may trigger for some people.

"Teddy Bear, I've Been Bad Again" by Cindy Pike Dunning (about child abuse)

I just want to make clear that I am not an incest or child abuse victim ~ just a survivor of other forms of abuse.   I use my experience with these to gain insight and heartfelt emotion and feeling the into the victim of child abuse and incest.

The first ten poems are ones that I have written about my own experience with domestic abuse in my former marriage.

There are a couple of novels which I have read that deal with abuse, and domestic abuse.

"The Dark Side" by Barry Morwood
deals with the dark side of domestic abuse, about the lives of three sisters, their experiences with this dark side and the choices they make.

"Journey" by Danielle Steel
deals with the horrors of emotional abuse in a domestic situation and one
woman's recovery to flee

"The Long Road Home" by Danielle Steel
deals with the abuse of a child, and the child's recovery into adulthood

"Kiss Mommy Goodbye" by Joy Fielding
deals with the pains of domestic abuse, bitter custody battles and the search for the children taken by their father

"Dead Air" by Rochelle Krich
I have not yet read this, but Rochelle has informed me that it too deals with domestic abuse
